It is a great pic, but isn't "The Great Wall" violating the compo rules, because it uses more than the allowed 12x40 chars (the grey line below)? |

Fantastic, all this!
Will there be a final ranking/release or something? |

What a great compo this is! |

Quote:Why did Jon's backgrounds go out of the compo? They're included in the final game apart from other top 8 works? That would be cool.
They are already in this version International Karate Ultimate |

May this compo never end... |

Some of the graphics really ask for new fighting styles and costumes. |
User Comment Submitted by Dwangi on 11 January 2018
I would like to see more entries with screens from Scandinavia. |
User Comment Submitted by nomistake on 3 January 2018
i really hope that all those amazing graphics will be used in the game (it screams for a cartridge version!) and why not improve the gameplay, too? (less delay) this would kick ass! |
User Comment Submitted by grasstust on 1 January 2018
So many great entries... How about releasing a version that lets the user select a few from all of them, which then will be loaded into the main program? |

If the fighting area is not as specified, we will see if it "fits". There are "easter eggs" in the IKU release with BLUE and GREEN. They are ok.
Quote:
- Fighting area should be yellow/dk grey/brown
RED/WHITE/PINK/LT GREY don't work at all. |

In addition I also miss a miami vice/beach style background, a 80's breakdance streetfighting ghetto hood background, inca pyramid/jungle background, polar background, inside a computer background, giant pacman background, and some more. |

Awesome entries here.
But it lacks a Tokyo skyline featuring Godzilla :-) |

Never have I voted so many tens in one compo! Awesome contributions people, you rock! |

I tried hires only. Nasty flicker at the top right and also at the bottom. So no, I guess there is no drop in solution here. |

Just a maybe stupid question: if screen switches to character mode at $A1 (if I understood correctly), is there a technical limitation in current game code that prevents upper part to be in HiRes (96x320), instead of multicolor (96x160)? |
User Comment Submitted by Knight Rider on 9 December 2017
Just to clarify the "last pixel line" bit. See the pic of IK 'naked':
At raster line #$A1 the change BG colour/MC bitmap>MC character/Screen location is made. This leaves a slight flicker of the BG colour that will be visible if not covered by pixels (the way Archer Maclean did it).
@Magic @digger. It is possible to be a full screen MC bitmap (I have made a prototype), but then this leaves additional effort. Eg displaying points, speech bubbles, judge, minigame I and hiscore table all need to be rewritten. Currently I don't believe there is actually enough memory available to do all this. Maybe for a future project, but not in this compo.
@rail slave I can't see your one drive. Please mail me the file. mail i.d. in my profile. |

Hi guys, I really want to enter this as IK(+) WAS my streetfighter 2 !! (it had to be at that time :P as nothing else was out to get me my fix)
regarding my initial efforts, apart from this looking like a complete prototype/w.i.p. pizza, is everything else ok as regards to restrictions ?
https://1drv.ms/i/s!AgsbQpBGlrrviFadiy93dM3sN8fS
again, this is w.i.p. and with my set up I might as well have a paintbrush strapped to my forehead. |

To bad the other half of the pic cant be tempered with. |

Is there a reason why the floor has to be "clean"? |
