Jim Candle : The Baba Yaga (reverse stealth)

Jim Candle : The Baba Yaga The Best Assassin in the World, Jim Candle, has been hired to stop the criminals. The good news is, that the fame of Jim Candle, makes all the criminals run away without a fight. The bad news is, that he has two minutes to save the world. 

Controls

WASD - Move  Mouse - Look and Aim

Goal

Your goal is to kill all the criminals hiding from you, and find the VIRUS Disc on the dead body of the last criminal. 

The dream

In the game's initial concept, the idea was to have those sneaky criminals play a little game of hide-and-seek. Jim would then need to listen to their monologuing to find them. I also wanted to create some cameras that would track and convey the movement of the criminals to Jim, and some automated gun turrets, to punish mindlessly searching every room. Ultimately it could be a mini immersive sim, with systems and AI interacting .

What went wrong

I joined the jam 6 hours before closing, so there was little time to even make the game run. The sound is a mess, the AI sometimes gets stuck walking, and there is little room for hiding.

Some really bad, cheesy but ultimately awesome voice acting
Corpses that float and moan when you shoot them
Enemies made with basic shapes and colors
A rich colorful map
A feeling of being a feared assasin, as enemies run away yelling when they see you

So go on and save the world yet again. We are all counting on you... Jim Candle!
