#05 - Release Go.Token v0.0.0.3
What did Go.Token v0.0.0.3 bring?
After a long journey to port the project to Godot 4, we finally reached our goal. We had many challenges with Godot's own conversion tool, due to these problems we decided to port manually which took longer than we expected.
Currently the project is in version 4.0.3 of Godot, we intend to migrate to version 4.1.x or 4.2 (if it comes out in time for port), but we believe that being in the version 4 ecosystem, we shouldn't have any problems and it shouldn't take long, as was the case with the port from version 3.5.x to 4.0.3 (we also had to wait for some releases to guarantee the stability of the engine, this wait made us take a little longer in the finalization process). Keeping the project using the most current version of the engine will guarantee us more stable maintenance for a longer period of time without needing “drastic” changes in the future (as was the current case in the port from GDscript 1 to 2). Furthermore, what comes in this update:
- Joint scaling bug when the chain button is connected fixed: When making separate scaling adjustments and then activating the simultaneous scaling option, the two vectors received the same input. Now the difference in values is maintained, only receiving the specific addition or subtraction of the step values in the sliders.
- Correction of the token shader value to reduce the aliasing of pixels.
What's ahead?
We still focus on implementing what was proposed in the devlog 03 post (click here to learn more), and in addition, we also want to add some UX/UI improvements detected by us and users feedback. Understanding the best arrangement of items and usability has been our biggest challenge and concern currently, so if you have a proposal or are having difficulty with something, please let us know, we will be happy with the feedback and it will help us a lot to understand how to improve the project.
