Barshen Blizzard
A downloadable game for Windows
This is my entry for Brackeys Game Jam 2024.2 whose theme is Calm Before The Storm.
Story:
You play as Valc, female raider fighting in Planet Barshen. Fight enemies and bosses but don't forget to collect coins to upgrade yourself. Because, once the calm is over, enemies will storm in and you need those upgrades to survive!
Control scheme:
- Numpad keys = Move around and aim weapon
- X = Shoots Bullets
- Z = Jumps
- C = Shoots Shields
- Enter = Confirm/Pause the game.
- F8 = Take a screenshot.
Features:
- Can move and shoot in 8 directions.
- 2 shots : Bullet and Shield

A great game! Bloodbane has really up his game! Great music, great visuals
Only fixing a bit the jumping, I find it a bit stiff. Another slight thing has to be the punishment for dying since when I die, my character just spawns again, leaving no punishment for dying, like return back to the beginning or a checkpoint
Still, for a Jam, it's very fun and entertaining! Keep it up!
Hmm... jumping feels fine here, so what is exactly stiff in jumping?
As for dying, yeah, I had coded losing half coins on death but forgot coding real death when there's no coin left before. I've coded the latter couple days ago to fix this.
