Our focus is people and helping our members further their dairy industry career – in whatever sector they work. We do this through networking, technical learning, product competitions and our publications.
The Dairy Industry Association of Australia (DIAA) is a professional association for people working in dairy product manufacturing and allied trades.
Mission
The DIAA’s mission is to provide a forum for communication, continuing education, professional growth, recognition and fellowship for all members, sectors and participant organisations involved with the dairy industry.
Background
The DIAA was incorporated on 24 March 1986, following the amalgamation of the Australian Dairy Institute (previously the Dairy Factory Managers & Secretaries’ Association) and the Australian Society of Dairy Technology.
In July 2019, the DIAA changed its status to become a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. It is now lead by a Board of Directors elected from the membership of the Association.
The DIAA is a national organisation, with a National Office currently based in Victoria staffed by part-time personnel and Branches representing geographical segments of the membership. Each Branch is managed by a volunteer Branch Committee, who come from all sectors of the dairy industry.

President’s Theme
Every year, the DIAA National President selects a theme that is particularly relevant to the DIAA and the industry. The President’s Theme sets the direction for the DIAA and is picked up by all DIAA State branches in their annual conferences and other DIAA events.
