Prototyping of ambient media using shameplants

Abstract

In this paper, we propose an ambient medium using the motion of twigs of living shameplants. At the office and home, people use electric displays for convenience. However, these cause health problems. Moreover, people want to get healed by the surrounding environment. By using living plants as an ambient medium, people can receive information and get healed from the surrounding environment. Therefore, we developed a prototype of an ambient medium employing living plants by using Arduino and a control module and investigated the availability by using that.
