The NSF 'Large-scale Networking Platforms "Communities of Practice"' workshop was held on October 24-25, 2016 in Washington DC. The main aim of the workshop was to bring together researchers from both academia and industry involved in (data) networking and community infrastructure projects to distill lessons learned from starting/building/operating/sustaining research-focused networking testbeds. Another aim was to use past experiences and see how they could be applied to the Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) initiative and on the establishment of 'communities of practice' in order to help the PAWR Project Office (PPO) with design, development, deployment and management of a set of advanced wireless research platforms/testbeds.
