World of Vaenia Campaign Setting

The World of Vaenia is a fantasy setting in the midst of a social and industrial revolution.

In the wake of an intercontinental war that brought together all of the continent's cultures for the first time, people are trying to set aside old grudges, learning from one another, and generally trying to knit the world back together. This process is not always smooth, however, so there's still plenty of room for conflict, especially since there are always groups and individuals that thrive by putting others to such hardships.

Right now, this campaign setting offers eight new or reworked races, five new classes, three new subclasses for existing classes, an entire continent's worth of new locations, and nine new pantheons, with a healthy helping of new items and some new enemies as well.

More enemies, subclasses, and spells are planned for the setting, and we'd like to add art in, too! But that's why this project is still marked as "in development."

AVAILABILITY NOTICE:

This is a long-term project that had (until Jan 2023) been on the back burner for quite some time, and I have learned a great deal about topic sensitivity since it was begun.

While a version of this project has been publicly available on my personal website since at least late 2020, recent moves by a certain corporate entity have made me feel like I need to have some version of this product up and available on a more widely trafficked website to shore up my stance on which license applies to it before some unforeseen (and possibly unspoken) deadline passes, and I'm either forced to agree to a new license or abandon the project entirely.

I had planned to make updates to this setting before releasing it more widely, but here we are.  I still plan to do those fixes when I'm able to, but they are not present in this version (0.1.6 for this document as of this writing).

There are some problems inherent to the system that the whole setting is based around that I'll do my best to mitigate, but I know there are also some areas of my own creation that need improvement. As a result, I'm disabling downloads for the time being until I can implement at least some of these updates.
