pahammond check out the Space Bugger made by Game-A-Tron (Short word. GAT). Licensed by Pat. Pending. Arcade game. Its kind of like Space Invaders. Instead of coming down. They're moving up and down on the left side and on the right side. Your shooter is in the middle of the screen. First video have the correct colors. There is one chases you in the middle. Just can't shoot up and down. Just an idea for a remake.
You can play it on the PC. https://play.date/dev/ Use this to load it. Unzip it and then use the game folder to load it.
On the Atari 2600 version. Only the ones below shooting. Get boring after 2 stages because the rest isn't shooting. This is like a kid mode. lol
They can respawn back to life on the higher levels.
The little ones shooting for a short time and then following your ship when they're going down. Little ones doesn't respawn back after touch the bottom of the screen. You have to try to stay away from the ones that are coming down.
Your ship can get frozen yellow for a short time. Turn back to normal after that.
Your game is much better. Everything that I said is from the Atari 2600. Above.
I gotten the error too.

I got the game to work on the Heroic. Using the Proton GE Proton 9-7. Should work on everyone Linux. https://heroicgameslauncher.com/ Get the Proton GE from the ProtonPlus app or ProtonUp-Qt app from the Software Center or any Software browser app. Don't use Wine though. There is some graphics glitches.
