There is not tempo, the tempo is fast as you can go, although you want to stay consistent in your timing to ensure good accuracy. 

Ascend the leaderboards! Ascend higher and higher with scores. In the results screen, you will clearly see that the player ascends after completing their song, which means it definitely fits the theme. :)
