A downloadable emulator for Windows and Linux
pemsa is a cart runner for the famous PICO-8 fantasy console. We've included the classic games developed for this console, including Celeste, Slipways & Hug Arena.
The project is opensource!
Terminal/console launch options:
pemsa [cart] [flags]
- --export-all Exports carts from input folder to output
- --no-splash Disables startup splash
- --save [file] Saves the compiled cart
- --no-fullscreen Disables fullscreen by default

Two questions:
where are the background screenshots stored? i'd like to add some for the games i add.
will there be any updates? compatibility is kinda hit or miss, half the games i add don't run, like marble merger or Poom
An android version would be greatly appreciated. The only Andoid app I can find for playing Pico 8 games is "P8 Player" which has audio issues and no support for physical controllers.
can you add a launch option where it shows all (compiled) carts within a specified directory?
will there be more games? it would be awesome, the emulator runs pretty well, but when i press F11 it doesn't show good
You can drop more games (needs to be in .p8 format) into the emulator folder and splore will show them :)
but all carts are .p8.png, and not recognized :(
They are not supported for now :( Comming soon doe
Is this still coming? or is there anyway to batch convert files?
you can just get rid of the .png tag and it'll work (most of the time)
you can convert png to p8 with the educational pico8, just drag and drop your pngs and after they're loaded (instantly) write "save nameofyourp8file"... obviously replacing the last word with whatever you wanna name the game
how can i use the --no--fullscreen command? i dont know how to use a console
You can exit full screen by pressing f11 or alt+enter
