Pronunciation
[edit]Pronoun
[edit]mío m sg (first person singular possessive of singular masculine, masculine plural míos, feminine mía, feminine plural mías)
- mine; of mine
- ¿De quién son estos libros? — Son míos. Los tuyos están en la mesa.
- Whose books are these? — They're mine. Yours are on the table.
Usage notes
[edit]- Typically preceded by a definite article (el mío, la mía, los míos, las mías) unless referring to clothing, body parts, or functioning as the copulative attribute of the verb ser, as in the above example. In these cases the use of the definite article indicates emphasis.
