- (intransitive) to run down, rush down, race down (to move swiftly from a higher place to a lower one; used with lative suffixes for the direction and optionally -n/-on/-en/-ön for the connecting passage)
- (intransitive, of water) to run down (from somewhere: -ról/-ről)
- Synonym: lezúdul
- A megáradt folyó sebesen rohant le a hegyről. ― The swollen river quickly ran down from the mountain.
- (transitive, figuratively) to invade, overrun (to conquer by a quick, powerful assault)
- (transitive, figuratively) to argue down, overwhelm (to disable objections with a commanding presence, large amount of data, energetic speech)
