Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *ta ̊, from Proto-Indo-European *to- (“it”). Cognate to Lithuanian tadà (“then, thereupon”) and Sanskrit तदा (ta-dā́, “then”). The second element is from Proto-Albanian *nu, from Proto-Indo-European *nu. Cognate to English now.
