HOT 102.7FM is Johannesburg’s newest commercial radio station, broadcasting to the greater Johannesburg area, with the station’s music format of the very best ‘Old Skool’ and R&B complemented by a line-up of some of South Africa’s best-known and loved radio presenters – most of them legends of the South African radio industry.
That mix of the best music and the best DJs makes for entertaining, easy listening, and when combined with amusing and compelling content, and accurate news, sport and traffic information, the end result is a winning formula and the best radio station around!
Listeners can look forward to plenty of music from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, less talking from the DJs, more chances to win cash and prizes via on-air competitions, more feel-good stories in news bulletins, and more CSI initiatives and support for charities.
HOT 102.7FM also plays a prominent role in the community through the HOT Cares non-profit charity initiative, which aims to make a meaningful difference to the lives of those in need. The station also contributes to the growth and continued success of the South African radio industry through the HOT Radio Training Academy, which provides a training programme that upskills and equips future radio industry professionals.

Hot Cares
[edit]Hot Cares Non-Profit Company is a registered Public Benefit Organisation that strives towards making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us. Over the past few years, Hot Cares has been dedicated to providing much-needed assistance to those who find themselves in difficult circumstances within our community.
Our scope of attention ranges from the development of crèches in informal settlements, to our weekly soup kitchen for the homeless, to food banks for those in need and have no income to feed their families, to entrepreneurs and NPO’s who require guidance, resources and awareness of their programs, to medical assistance, educational bursaries for students and the upliftment of schools, various animal shelters and even individuals who just need a helping hand at a particularly difficult time in their life.
Hot Cares has played an integral part of bringing our community together to help those whose circumstances are beyond their control, to whom a moment of succour and a little touch of compassion would go a long way. The appreciation and the difference Hot Cares makes in the community is evident in the support and trust we receive from our listeners and donors. Businesses and individuals assist us in helping others and Hot Cares often acts as a conduit between those who have and those who need.
The spirit of Ubuntu, is imbued with the sentiment, “I Am, because We Are” and we truly believe that together we can reach our goal of making a difference in as many lives as possible.
