Template:Cfm-double/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Propose merging a category. The template displays the proper links and the recommended {{Cfm2}} syntax for the next step.

Please follow overall instructions.

Usage

[edit]

If a single category:

ProposedName is the category name you desire to merge this into. It must already exist; if it does not, you should use {{cfr}} to rename.

If a group of similar categories or a category and its subcategories, use an umbrella nomination:

ProposedName is the desired replacement name for the category.
SectionName is the joint discussion section. It may be a category name, or any other unique name that reflects the nominations.
Note that where the SectionName includes the category prefix, it must be specified:
  • {{subst:Cfm|Example|Category:Bishops}} — with category prefix
  • {{subst:Cfm|Example|Bishops and archbishops categories}} — without "Category:"
  • Please include "Cfm" in the edit summary, and don't mark the edit as minor.
  • To merge into 2 targets, please use {{subst:cfm-double|ProposedName1|ProposedName2}} (or {{subst:cfm-double|ProposedName1|ProposedName2|SectionName}} as stated above).
  • To merge into 3 or more targets, use either template, and just add more targets after listing the nomination in the next step.
  • Preview before saving. The display will give more precise instructions about the next step.
