What this template is for

[edit]

What, exactly do you think Navbox templates are for if not for navigation to related pages and topics? This template is too full and needs to be trimmed down, there is no reason to list every topicon template in this navbox since there are now categories that do this. I'll be reverting to the trimmed version in three days if there is no further objection. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 19:10, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't. For now anyway. I need a convenient place that lists all templates in order to aid the upcoming migration to <indicator> tags. -- [[User:Edokter]] {{talk}} 22:02, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Technical13 Please refrain from using the "I am the boss here" tone on Wikipedia. Please review WP:CONSENSUS and WP:BRD. As to the point, this template was meant to contain all topicon templates, and that is convenient enough to keep it so. The size of this template is fine with me. There exist much larger templates. • You do realize there are many, many, many more templates than what are in this navbox, right? There are actually about 35,973 transclusions of this template and at least 1,000 of those are actual top icon templates... I still need to hunt some down to add to the category structure, but this navbox is useless because there are too many unimportant topicons in there... — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 00:48, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It does list the most important ones, which you can't determine in a category. -- [[User:Edokter]] {{talk}} 10:13, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Should we remove the numerous appearances of "topicon" via piped links to reduce redundancy and the overall size of this template? ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:15, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
