Question from Yiayia42 (10:33, 26 June 2024)[edit]

Hello, Would like to add photos to my Great Uncles site. How do I do that? --Yiayia42 (talk) 10:33, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Yiayia42, what article is that for? See this guide for how to add pictures. You must be the copyright owner of the photos you wish to add! Cheers, Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 12:55, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thomas Xenakis Olympic Gymnast 1896 modern olympics, my great Uncle..want to add his photo and Olymic Medal to his site..how can I do it? Or can you? Yiayia42 (talk) 09:26, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Yiayia42, please take a look at this guide which explains how to upload pcitures and how to determine copyright of the photo. Then, use this wizard to submit an edit request to the article (as you have just declared you have a conflict of interest with that person, you should not be editing the page directly yourself). In that edit request, say something like "I am requesting that the following image be added to his infobox" (which would place the image in the appropriate location).
Hopefully that answers your question, Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 12:10, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from 0Hugo-12 (17:19, 26 June 2024)[edit]

I want to write a biography about a person --0Hugo-12 (talk) 17:19, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@0Hugo-12, see Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons for general information. You can also find more information about creating your first article here. Let me know if you come up with any questions after reading those two articles. Cheers! Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 21:43, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Mummifiedman1234 (15:14, 28 June 2024)[edit]

Hello, I have edited before but tell me if I do anything wrong please. Also, i am making a page on mummification bondage, can you tell me what specifically is wrong with it? They keep rejecting for citing, but I have added 9 citations with what seems to be credible sources. --Mummifiedman1234 (talk) 15:14, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Mummifiedman1234! The issue with your draft is that it relies on some sources that are considered unreliable for use as a Wikipedia citation (see WP:NPPSG for some listing of the reliability of publishers. You'll also find a list of those that are considered reliable there too). Let me know if you have other questions, Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 15:39, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Mummifiedman1234 (16:18, 28 June 2024)[edit]

Well the topic I am covering is not really covered by big news companies that are considered reliable, but I know a lot about the topic, I have experienced it before. How should I fix it? --Mummifiedman1234 (talk) 16:18, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Mummifiedman1234, the issue with "knowing a lot about what I'm talking about" is that it is considered original research, which is not allowed by any means on Wikipedia. What you are writing about must always be referenced to reliable, published sources. Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 14:00, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Mummifiedman1234 (14:45, 29 June 2024)[edit]

Ok, can you check the article to see if it would work? --Mummifiedman1234 (talk) 14:45, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Mummifiedman1234, I'll leave it up to another reviewer to review the draft since I was providing you feedback earlier. Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 14:58, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your patience regarding the userscript. I had to go on an unannounced wikibreak, so thank you for being patient. Anyway, a beta version of the script is here: User:TheTechie/Help Me Tool.js. Please test it and let me know about any issues you run into. If you reply here, please ping me. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 17:36, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds great, @TheTechie, thank you a lot! I will test it over the next few weeks (maybe months, also going on a Wikibreak soon) but will get you some feedback soon . Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 20:54, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Rogue One[edit]

The article Rogue One you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. Question from Useradam (23:56, 14 July 2024)[edit]

Hello, can this page (https://virtualnerd.com/algebra-1/relations-functions/relations/definitions/solution-set-definition) be used as a citation for this wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solution_set) for the first paragraph? --Useradam (talk) 23:56, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Useradam! I would refreain from using this source as on first look it does not seem reliable by Wikipedia's standards. Let me know if you need help finding another good one! Cheers, Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 02:22, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Useradam (00:25, 15 July 2024)[edit]

also, how to I write down a translated book cover from "De la vita civile, ouero del senno libri dieci" to "On civil life, or on wisdom, ten books" in Wikipedia format? --Useradam (talk) 00:25, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Useradam, use {{cite book}}, it should have fields for what you need with examples. Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 02:25, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
