Summerseat in Ramsbottom.

[edit]

No disrespect Tong22 but I have lived in the Summerseat and Ramsbottom area all my life and if I say Summerseat is in the Ramsbottom District then it is. I presume you live nowhere near the area.It makes far more sense to talk to people who live in the area and to take advice from them.I would never presume to pretend to know about your area in which you live - I hope you get my point! The Bury Council website is quite misleading. If you go to the main page - scroll along to the rectangular box on the right hand side of the page that says "In and around Bury".There you will see two maps of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury. The top one says"Town Guides or Maps".In this you see the Six Townships(Districts)that make up the Borough.Summerseat is FIRMLY within the area of the top map listed as "Ramsbottom". Below that you can see the "Local Area Partnership"areas.Bury Council is wrong to be calling the Partnership areas "Districts" for this conflicts with Official Guide publications.Methinks they need to re-design the web page!!! I quote from the Ramsbottom section in the current"Bury Metropolitan Borough Official Guide"it says:"There are several villages in the Ramsbottom area.Summerseat with its hamlets of Brooksbottom and Rowlands lies on both sides of the River Irwell with popular housing developments.Part of the village is now a conservation area and nearby lies the scenic Gollinrod Gorge,a local beauty spot.Holcombe Brook,a popular residential area well provided with local shops lies in the shadow of Peel Tower and surrounding moorland".Both listed as in Ramsbottom. I hope that quote lays this debate to rest.Call it what you like but according to official sources Summerseat is in the sphere of influence of Ramsbottom. You could say it is in the Ramnsbottom Township or the Ramsbottom District.Take your pick. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark Thompson02 (talkcontribs) 14:14, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Quite simply, I used the GIMP program and a lot of patience through the night to resize and align the images as best I could. It was a trial and error endeavour, but there are plenty of instructions around for using GIMP. Good luck! Tong22 (talk) 21:49, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
