It is found in the South South of Nigeria. Bayelsa was carved out of Rivers State in 1996.

Yenogoa derives its name from acronym of three of its main local government areas – Brass (BALGA), Yenagoa (YELGA) and Sagbama (SALGA). The first major settlers are the Ijaw people. Yenogoa is surrounded by swamps and mangrove and tropical rain forests and mostly accessible by water.

Yenagoa experiences unpleasant weather all year round, with the wet season being cold, breezy and cloudy and the dry season being hot and also cloudy.

By plane

From wherever you are, to get to Yenagoa you need to fly in to Port Harcourt Airport and continue the journey to the city by road. Flights every hour from Lagos take around 1 hour and 20 minutes.

By bus

From the terminus of God is Good Motors found in different parts of the country GIGM will suffice. It costs ₦10,500 from Lagos.Peace Mass Transport and Agofure also have terminals all over the country.
