My teaching philosophy

Overview

[edit | edit source]

My teaching philosophy integrates principles of experiential and challenge-based education, emphasising student empowerment, transparency, and open academia. Inspired by Dewey’s experiential education, I view the educator’s responsibility as fostering a holistic process of personal and academic growth. I advocate for open educational practices, leveraging wikis and other collaborative tools to create and share knowledge.

This philosophy aligns with constructivist approaches, promoting active student participation and partnership in the learning process. By adopting a customer service orientation, I ensure that student needs and feedback drive continuous improvement. I also prioritise social justice, environmental sustainability, and the use of open educational resources to make learning accessible to all.

Ultimately, my aim is to cultivate an inclusive, dynamic educational environment where students and educators co-create knowledge, empowering each other towards lifelong learning and societal contribution.
