Wikidata for Beginners

  • Summary: Wikidata is a free database of entries from Wikipedia and other free databases. In this workshop, we will talk about the very basics of this project, i.e., what it contains, how it is organized, and the methods of obtaining data. Subsequently, we will demonstrate how to add items to academic papers, and everyone can try this activity on a pre-prepared dataset. Manually adding items and their properties gives you a basic insight into the structure and organization of Wikidata.
