Oscar Rubén Larrauri (born August 19, 1954 in Granadero Baigorria) is a racing driver from Argentina he won the formula 3 championship un 1982 with euroracing. He participated in 21 Formula One Grands Prix, all with the struggling EuroBrun team, debuting on April 3, 1988 at the Brazilian Grand Prix (Larrauri qualified 26th but did not start due to the car overheating on the parade lap). He scored no championship points, only qualifying 8 times.

He was for many years part of Brun Motorsport in sports car racing, and involved in the World Sportscar Championship, IMSA GT Championship, Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft, and All Japan Sports Prototype Championship during his career.
Beginnings
Larrauri began his career in 1974 in the category Limitada in the provinces of Santa Fé and Córdoba. In 1975 it obtained the 4º position in the championship of Limitada in the province of Santa Fe. In 1976 he obtained his first title in an official competition in Limitada and the title of champion in the Interprovincial Tournament. In 1977 he crowned champion again in Limitada . In 1978 he obtained the 6º position in the Argentine National Championship of the Formula 2 and the 3º put in the Championship of the "Limitada". In 1979 he returned to obtain the title of Champion of Limitada and participated in the international season of the European Formula 3 with Michele Alboreto, Corrado Fabi and others Italian pilots as adversaries; of two contested races won both. This was the first step towards their participation in Europe. [1]
First steps in Europe
In 1980 he acts in the European Formula 3 in the Guido Forti team. In 1981 he plays in European Formula 3 in the team of C. Gariboldi finishing 5th in the championship and obtaining a victory in Nürburgring. In 1982 it acts in the European Formula 3 leaving champion with 7 victories, integrating the equipment Euro Racing of G. Pavanello. In 1983 participates in the Championship of Formula 2 - Team of G. Minardi. In 1984 participates in Sport Prototype World Championship in Team Brun Motorsport. In 1985 Champion of the Tournament is crowned "Glass Renault Alpine V6" integrating the team of Massimo Sigala. He also participates in the Sport Prototype World Championship in Team Brun Motorsport. In 1986 acting another season in the Sport Prototype World Championship, he triumphs in Jerez de la Frontera, and adds the 2nd place in the general class of 24 Hours of Le Manstitle = 24 Hours de Le Mans 1986: The Poppy Larrauri finished second. That year gets the title winning the World Championship as a team with Brun Motorsport. He also participates in the Tournament IMSA in US, being 2nd in the 24 Hours of Daytona. In 1987 participates in the Renault Cup, achieving the triumph in the race of Portugal. Continues in the IMSA tournament of the United States and in the Sport Prototype World Championship. [1]
Arrival in Formula 1
In 1983 Oscar was going to run in Formula 1, but was replaced by Raúl Boesel in Equipe Ligier of France, finally in 1988 arrives in Formula 1 ]] with the team EuroBrun. In that year, you had to pre-qualify to enter the classification. He showed immense effort in the pre-classifications and classifications with a car that had weak suspension. In the Brazilian Grand Prix of 1988 his car was stopped in the previous round by a short circuit. But in the 1988 Monaco Grand Prix, where the driver had the most importance because of how dangerous the track was, and more so if it rains, he managed to put his car in the 16th position on the grid.
Last years in motorsport
In 1989 he gets 2nd place in 24 hours. of Daytona in IMSA. He has another season in the World Championship of Sport Prototypes and also works in the Japanese Sport Prototype Championship being 3rd in the Fuji race. In 1990 another year more in the Sport Prototype World Championship where in 24 hours. de Le Mans obtains 2nd place in the classification tests. That same year the Konex Foundation awarded him the Konex Prize as one of the 5 best motorists of the decade in Argentina. In 1991 he competes in the World Championship of Sport Prototype and in the European Championship of the "Porsche Cup" with 6 participations, 2 wins and a 2nd place. In 1992 he plays in the IMSA GT Championship US, where he finishes 5th in the championship. Finish 2º in the Championship of the "Interserie" in Europe where it finishes 2º in the match obtaining 4 victories. He is champion of the Porsche Cup. In 1993 he participates in the Italian Gran Turismo championship, where he runs 11 races and wins 9 with a Ferrari 348, 1 with Maserati Sport, and in the remaining is 2nd with the Ferrari, achieving the title of Champion. In 1994 He participates in the Italian Gran Turismo Championship, runs the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ferrari 348 and achieves the 2nd place in classification tests in his category. He also does it in the Japanese Grand Touring Championship where he wins the Mine race. In 1995 he acts in the Italian Supertourism Championship with Alfa Romeo 155 and the Japanese Gran Turismo. In 1996 he competed in the Japanese Gran Turismo, winning the classification test in the Fuji circuit with a Ferrari F40. In 1997 participates in the South American Touring Car Championship "Nations Cup" with a BMW 3 Series, over 10 contests wins wins 3 and gets the title of champion. Add 7 participations in the Gran Turismo Americano GTA. In 1998 he competed again in the South American Championship "Nations Cup" with a BMW 3 Series; over 12 competitions gets 6 victories and wins the championship.in 1999 and 2001 he won again the "South American Champions"
