IMMERSE GAMEPACK x CYBERPUNK 2077

+
No crackling or breakups for me other than the same old occasional audio stutter that CDPR can't seem to fix on PC.

Now for the Immerse app, let me preface by saying I was definitely the biggest skeptic about this $20 audio mod as should be obvious from my previous posts before the app released.

I was wrong, I'm not afraid to admit it. You OWE it to yourself to give this the 14 day COMPLETELY FREE NO BULLSHIT ATTACHED trial, this should be a big sign to everyone that they're obviously proud of what they made and are so sure that it's a winner that they're giving you TWO WHOLE WEEKS to trial it out with no credit card attached, nothing other than an email address that they send a PIN number to for authorization. And they absolutely have to know that this is completely opening themselves up to people creating a mountain of fake emails to get another two weeks of free use.

That's pretty ballsy, I know it, you know it, I'm sure they know it as well...

Now on to the mod/app itself, I tested on my Sony PS5 Pulse headphones, my Astro A50 headphones, as well as my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 that is my usual audio on this PC because I hate wearing headphones. I also hooked my PC to my living room audio Yamaha RX-V4A 5.2 (hooked up as 5.1 currently) receiver even though I normally only game in that room on my PC5 and UNFORTUNATELY this app isn't available on the PS5.

The head tracking with a camera works, not sure what else to say about it, if I had to guess it gives you around a 15 degree modifier to the sound angle, it's not very aggressive which is NICE, maybe the company can comment on how many degrees of head turn it actually adjusts for but you can definitely hit the edge without a lot of head movement. It's nice for bigger monitors or a TV where you're turning your head just slightly to see something at the edges. Please don't change this btw it feels perfect right now in the 1.0 patch version.

I have about 2 hours on the Sony Pulse, 2 hours on the Astro A50, and about 5 hours on the Klipsch 2.1 so far, the Yamaha 5.1 a little over an hour. I used head tracking on everything except the Klipsch because normally I would never let an app just take over my camera like that... it's great that the app functions perfectly without REQUIRING a camera btw.

I was a little shocked at how much this actually makes the game better on the Pulse and A50, absolutely worth the $20 if you're using headphones, the Windows 11 spatial audio is abysmal compared to this app. If you're on ANY kind of 5 or 7 channel headphones or any kind of 5/7 channel surround this is an absolute no brainer must buy. Do the free trial, you'll see.

The Yamaha 5.1 receiver in the living room was obviously a kick in the pants as well, I liked it better with the head tracking turned off but that's probably because I sit pretty close to the 65" TV and the head tracking was picking up a little too much movement. The calibration settings couldn't seem to trim it down enough, probably due to my distance from the TV and a manual slider with actual DEGREES on the settings page would be helpful.

The Klipsch 2.1 I'm on the fence about, YES it makes the game sound better, quite a bit better than I thought it would and I used this method first so I wouldn't contaminate my opinion on it by comparing it to the obviously better 5/7 channel headphones and the kick ass 5.1 Yamaha receiver. My only real point of concern is "is it worth $20" for a 2.1 speaker setup, if it was a 2.x headphone setup I'd say yeah because you also have the optional head tracking. I keep my speakers directly behind my 27" monitor and angled outwards and for me PERSONALLY I am definitely buying the app but I want to give it a few more days to see if I encounter any bugs.

Your milage may vary, again I strongly suggest downloading the trial version, you literally have nothing to lose except giving out your email address and the entire internet probably has it anyways. I'm no longer a skeptic, Embody did it right, yes I wish this was a free update obviously but these folks have time and effort involved and this makes the game better for 2.1 folks and WAY better for headphone folks so I'm ok paying the price.

Sorry for the wall of text, and sorry for my skepticism in earlier posts, you definitely earned some praise for this mod/app.

I bought it after trying the trial. My ears picked up the differences right away. I compared the audio in pretty much all major areas of the map. It's especially good in Dogtown. My previous spatial software that came with my headset made everything sound so muffled up. But this Immerse app is so much cleaner. Even the NCPD sirens sound like they're outside of my apartment building. lol The separations are quite clean.
I'm never playing Cyberpunk without Immerse now. Good stuff.

Sounds great. Love the review above me. But after recording drums I learned to hate wearing head phones of any kind.

Wow, thanks so much @Cleric670 , you've left us speechless at Embody  !!! You've really taken care to test it thoroughly, that's the least we can say...Please keep on checking it out, feel free to reach with comments and suggestions, and we'll definitely look into it!!

Anyone else experiencing constant crackling and sound breakups? So glad I trialed it before buying.
hey @cbrossouw , sorry to hear that you're experiencing crackling and sound breakups. I would kindly ask you to contact us through support@embody.co with some technical details (Windows version, headset, sound card, etc) so we can help you further. This crackling is usually a result of some sample rate or bitrate mismatch along the audio path (game->Immerse->sound card->headsets) so please contact us and we'll do our best to help resolving it!

Not sure if this is the right place or if there is a proper support thread for this software;

The issue I'm having, in short, is that the Immerse Gamepack software won't authorize my personalized HRTF. The first time I tried, I scanned the QR code, did the whole head turn thing and then got an error message that the software encountered an issue with verification or something. The second time I tried, scanned the QR code, did the whole head turn thing, and now the software is stuck on "authorizing"

I will update if I eventually get it to work. Seems like it's worth the money if it works...otherwise, if the key features dont work, this definitely isn't worth any amount of money.

I saw an article a day or two ago about a twitch stream event with immerse gamepack that you have to stream with it, from july 15 or something like that and you have until today to register if im not wrong, but I cant find this article anymore

anyone knows about that can link it please

I was waiting for a patch from CDPR to address some lingering audio bugs, but the more I read it seems like those issues might not be relevant to the Cyberpunk 2077 Immerse Gamepack. So I decided to give it a try.

My reference setup is a Sound Blaster AE-9 sound card, Sound Blaster Command software using the Cyberpunk 2077 SBX and EQ profile, and Sennheiser HD 660S2 headphones.

Pros: Gunfire and explosion sounds are noticeably improved. The sound is deeper, richer, and delivers more punch. It's a much better approximation of real gunfire sounds than the original game.

Cons: This comes at the expense of every other sound in the game. Outside of gunfire and explosions, the rest of the soundscape seems duller, flatter, and muted. Ambient sounds, music, and especially dialogue lose a lot of crispness and brightness that are present in my base setup. I wonder how much of this has to do with Immerse being limited to 16bit sound quality vs 32bit in my base system, but that's just a guess on my part. SBX Surround and EQ were disabled while using Immerse, per Embody's guide for a different gamepack.

Neutral: Surround effects seem to be equal in both my base system and the Immerse Gamepack.

Conclusion: What it does, it does very well. The improved gunfire and explosion sounds are fantastic, to the point that I will genuinely miss them. But I will miss them because, for me, they're not worth nerfing the rest of Cyberpunk 2077's excellent soundscape. If you're starting from a lower overall bar for sound reproduction, then your math may be different. If Immerse can provide the same improvements without significant negative impact on the user's previous sound experience, then it's definitely worth considering. I'd like to to see the Immerse improvements integrated into my setup instead of replacing it. I would definitely pay for that. Either way, I think Embody is on to something and look forward to seeing how they continue to develop and integrate their technology.

A big flaw in my opinion, I think it should also work with TrackIR 5, unfortunately it is not compatible! It is really necessary to use a front camera, which I don't have at the moment! That's why it became almost useless to buy these mods, when the head rotates! Do you know if any will support TrackIr5 or Tobbi eyes track?

Thanks @Leving_PT for your feedback! The idea behind using a webcam for our head tracking is that it is probably the most inexpensive solution for anyone to experience it, since webcams are fairly affordable these days, if you did not have to buy one during COVID times as most of us had to ;). In any case we've taken note of your suggestion and we will consider it for future releases.

Hey @gnrldsppntmnt! Our dev team would love checking the SBX settings at your end to test them and understand better your feedback. Do you mind contacting us at support@embody.co? we'll follow up from there.

Respectfully, I appreciate your need to make money, and the game has had so much work done to it, and I'm sure the sound thing is great. However it does appear that another way of making money, breaking promises to add FSR 3.0 (3.1 at this stage) in order to get whatever money Nvidia gives you.

Honestly at this point, just be honest and explain why you won't be adding something that would be enormously beneficial to both Pc and console.

Respectfully, Immerse Gamepack is Embody's work. They're a third party sound engineer group that specializes in spatial audio. They already created one for Final Fantasy and now they have one specially tailored for Cyberpunk 2077/Phantom Liberty. They worked closely with CDPR's sound department to get the best out of their spatial effects and it does indeed sound great with the game. I no longer run my game without it. You should give it a try if you're on PC!

FSR is an AMD implementation and requires AMD to work with CDPR's visual department in order to ensure it's deployed correctly and performs optimally with it's engine. It has already been confirmed as of recent (updated this month in fact) by AMD themselves, that Cyberpunk is indeed in the list of upcoming games that will get the latest FSR implementation. There is no scheduled ETA yet, but I'd speculate it will come at some point this year unless they change it otherwise.

They have a long list of games they're implementing this feature to and no one knows how their schedule looks at the moment.
It is entirely possible that FSR 3 was delayed for 3.1, which is much better.

There are no promises being broken in any regards to this implementation. Some things simply take time for technical reasons we're not privy to. FSR or DLSS is not a one size fits all feature.
The same with how Embody's Immerse software works best for specially tailored games like Final Fantasy and Cyberpunk 2077, respectfully.

We don't need to throw any gripe here about FSR. This topic which has nothing to do with FSR is about Embody's Immerse Gamepack for Cyberpunk 2077 and we should stay on topic.

Patience is a virtue, choom. Try the Immerse Gamepack spatial software for the time being!

Be grateful we're still getting more features for this amazing game.
