Stop the Darkness
Darkness is taking over your land, but you can still stop it! Upgrade areas by building villages, towers and more. The available upgrade is based on the adjacent areas and areas boost each other, so make sure to experiment and discover all possibilities. There are two ways to win; one of them is a bit harder if you like a challenge. Then play Extended Mode with more upgrades and three new ways to win.

Need Help Cant Stop The Darknes
I really love this game, and got pretty invested in it recently. A seed system would also be pretty amazing!
The music is so nice, the sound effects, the variety, the story. I love EVERYTHING about this game. The only thing I would change is that when you upgrade the stone circle, the darkness stops spreading but you have to level it up again to make the darkness go back slowly and then faster. And THEN you win the game. Other than that, 10/10 little game :D
You've really got good balance here! Most casual/puzzle city-builders I've played become pretty boring pretty quick, even ones that look more complex on the surface, but this one is perfectly sized for what it is. I know some people might not like the darkness, but I think it adds needed time constraint
so i left the game running overnight
gg i beat expert
conspiracy theory here this game is the prequel to the final earth 2 when you fail the people go colonize space
That would be interesting but this game seems to undeveloped for rocket ships
this music jammin'
it does
Cool game. I didn't think that such simple concept can be made in such fun strategy game.
I got really into the potion factory ending because it makes the game longer and more interesting. That made me focus on getting as much magic as possible. This is my best playthrough ever. The secret of the game comes down to choosing the map you start on, then be precise where you want special cities to be.
Aha, a fellow Potion Factory enthusiast!
Optimizing for mana generation is definitely the most interesting way to play the game. It takes a few map re-rolls before you get one with the right setup, but you can get some crazy results; I managed to hit one thousand mana per minute on a couple runs:
It should be possible to go a little bit higher if you can generate a map that allows for a Potion Factory adjacent to a Magical Water City next to a Great City of Tech and Magic, which results in a 225% production boost, (applied half again if the Potion Factory is also touching the water).
Makes me wish the game had a map editor so I could experiment!
Holy balls you got an epic map there. All the open space and your mushroom forests are perfectly in place relative to the potion factory. And stacking up all the cities of tech and magic with great city of cities, that's crazy. I don't think I've ever had more than 3 cities of tech and magic on a map at once before beating the game. If you got to 1K magic before winning the game, hats off to you :O
And yeah, a map editor would be a lot of fun. I wish the game opened up a more elaborate and outlandish part 2 / new area after you beat the darkness. We need a sequel.
im struggling on extended mode, can anyone give tips?
Focus on wood first. Get lots of it, especially a tree top village, then start upgrading stone and magic areas. Always upgrade areas in clusters so they compound.
Once you get past the first upgrade of the stone circle, start putting towns down and upgrade them to the first city level. Also upgrade all mining towns to mining cities. That will help you get enough tech for the light city upgrade.
If you get past that you have multiple options on how to win the game. That should help you pick up some other tricks, I won't give away all the secrets ;)
( ; *bye darkness
uff
I wish you could play without the darkness, although then that would defeat the name of the game(literally).
Such a good game...

What was in the update on April fourteenth?
Really great game, I like the mechanics a lot. I can't find the last upgrade, maybe one day.
the potion factory level 3?
hrad
Really cool game!
tips for extended: Go for the research win, focus on getting mana and the potion factory, use potions of light whenever you can
This is a terrific game!
The encroaching darkness as well as the gradual maxing out your tile upgrades adhere strongly to the theme, but what I really love about this game is the gradual reveal of its depth and the different strategies you might be able to use to win. Just when you think you've figured out, "OK, so I can also build cities for a research victory," you discover, "whoa, there's a potion factory?"
theres a WHAT
i enjoyed this a lot !!! :- )
