############ SETUP ############ Place the files in the bin folder in the way of your $PATH. Then go to the folder where you placed them and do: $ ln -s listmail countmail $ ln -s listmail getmail $ ln -s listmail readmail $ ln -s listmail replymail $ ln -s listmail newmail $ ln -s listmail rmmail $ mkdir ~/Mail First call listmail. Follow the instructions on the screen. Use the file ${HOME}/.config/postman/sort.sh to sort your mail. Next install fetchmail, msmtp, detox. $ sudo apt install fetchmail msmtp detox Next create the file ~/.fetchmailrc with the following content: ------------------------------------------ defaults no rewrite poll imap.gmail.com port 993 protocol IMAP user YOUR_USER_NAME@gmail.com password YOUR_SECRET_PASSWORD ssl smtphost smtp.gmail.com/465 mda postman ------------------------------------------ Then create the file ~/.msmtprc with the following content: ------------------------------------------ defaults auth on tls on account THIS_ACCOUNT_NAME host smtp.gmail.com port 587 from YOUR_USER_NAME@gmail.com user YOUR_USER_NAME@gmail.com password YOUR_SECRET_PASSWORD account default: THIS_ACCOUNT_NAME ------------------------------------------ ############ USAGE ############ # retrieve mail $ getmail # list mail in folder $ listmail ~/Mail/new $ listmail ~/Mail/inbox $ listmail ~/Mail/sent # read mail $ readmail ~/Mail/new NUMBER_OF_MAIL # reply to mail $ replymail ~/Mail/new NUMBER_OF_MAIL # remove mail $ rmmail ~/Mail/inbox NUMBER_OF_MAIL # flush ~/Mail/new $ rm ~/Mail/new/*
