In older releases support for Windows and other custom installs was support. As of version 3.1 support will be dropped for non-container and non-linux versions of jimi.
This change of direction is to enable easier adoption of the toolset by automating many of the current system administration tasks such as installation of plugin dependencies, creating settings.json and generating the required RSA keys during installation.
The simplification also enables quicker spin up/down of jimi clusters without having to share certain files due to them now being retained within the database.
Command line and internal setting options will be provided for turning off these admin tasks but will then require the user to carry them out by hand - this will enable support for Windows once more but will be a more complex deployment.
