Overview

Connector for Microsoft Dynamics is an integration solution which is targeted specifically at the Microsoft Dynamics family of products. The primary emphasis of the Connector is that of simplicity and ease of use while providing highly reliable and fault tolerant business document integration between Dynamics family products. The Connector for Microsoft Dynamics SDK contains documentation, templates, and sample code to help third party developers and partners who want to extend the functionality of Connector for Microsoft Dynamics.

System Requirements

  1. Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 SP1 or Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 with Cumulative Rollup 1 or Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2.

  2. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1 Hotfix for KB2414338.

  3. Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 AIF Web Services.

  4. Configure IIS 7 to host WCF Services (only required if installing the AIF on Windows Server 2008 and using AX 2009)

  5. Import ConnectorForMicrosoftDynamics.xpo file for AX 2009 or DynamicsConnector.xpo for AX 2012 or DynamicsConnectorR2.xpo for AX 2012 R2.
Note: If you have applied the CU 6 or later update for AX 2012 R2, then there is no need to import the XPO. You can run the ConnectorHelper class that is included in that CU instead of importing this XPO.

  6. Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 with minimum of Update Rollup 5 or Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 or Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 must be installed or a subscription to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online or a Partner hosted deployment must be active.

Note: To ensure proper integration, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Dynamics AX must use the same Application locale (with the same base language, base currency, and other base field values).

Note: To ensure proper integration, if using Microsoft Dynamics CRM online or Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 on-premises with UR 12 applied, you must use the classic forms within Dynamics CRM for the Account, Contact, and Sales Order entities.

We recommend that you contact your Microsoft Dynamics Partner before installing service packs or hot fixes. It is important to verify that your environment is compatible with the service pack(s) or hot fix(es) being installed.
