Hands & Voices is honored and motivated to lead the Family Leadership in Language and Learning (FL3) Center and work in partnership with all the very dedicated family leaders, Deaf and Hard of Hearing leaders, and EHDI Coordinators and systems of care professionals.

The goal of the FL3 Center is to increase state capacity for family-to-family support, develop family leadership skills, and engage D/HH adults as mentors to families across state/territory EHDI programs and other EHDI systems stakeholders.

The FL3 Center serves as a technical resource center for parents and caregivers of children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (D/HH) including those from underrepresented populations, family leaders, family-based organizations, and EHDI program recipients and stakeholders. The work will focus on several key areas including, technical assistance, training and education, resource development, communication and dissemination, quality improvement methodology and evaluation, evidence-based best practices, policy initiatives, and national partnerships.

The Family Leadership in Language and Learning (FL3) Center is a funding award from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). This award provides continued funding for the period of April 1st, 2024 – March 31st, 2029.
