The Last Tower - Auto-Battler meets Tower Defense

A  game for Ludum Dare 50 (Theme "Delay the inevitable") made in 48 hours.

Description

Defend the last remaining wizard tower from the never-ending swarm of monsters!

Buy and level up over 20 different wizards, and combine units from 8 different classes to get special bonuses.

How to play

  • Buy wizards from the shop with your money
  • Reroll the shop to see more units
  • Upgrade your shop by buying level ups
    • Leveling up the shop increases the chance of finding higher tiered units
    • Leveling up also allows you to have an additional unit on the field

  • Place wizards from your bench onto the map
  • Press play to start the round and fast-forward to toggle the play speed
  • At the end of each wave, receive money for the round + interest for each multiple of 5 dollars you own
  • Drag units to the bottom right trash to sell them

  • Combine 3 level-1 wizards of the same type to get a level-2 version of it
    • Combine 3 level-2 wizards to get a level-3 version of it
    • Level ups will give the wizard more damage and other improvements

  • Combine units to get class bonuses (here you would get the Purple 2 and Red bonuses):
  • Each multiple of 2 different wizards on the field that share the same color will give you a class buff
    • For example, having a Lightning wizard and a Overcharger wizard on the field will give all your yellow units an extra attack (something something about lightning never striking twice..)
    • Similarly having 4 different red units will increase the AOE sizes for all of them

Class Bonuses

- Yellow
    - 2 - 1 more attack per attack
    - 4 - 2 more attacks per attack
- Red
    - 2 - 25% larger AOEs
    - 4 - 50% larger AOEs
    - 6 - 100% larger AOEs
- Cyan
    - 2 - 20% stronger slowdown effect
    - 4 - 30% stronger slowdown effect
- Purple
    - 2 - 10% stronger knockback
    - 4 - 20% stronger knockback
- Orange
    - 2 - 10% attack speed improvement for ALL units
    - 4 - 20% attack speed and damage improvement for ALL units
- Green
    - 2 - Can gain interest up to $50 (instead of up to $25)
    - 4 - Can gain interest up to $100
- Pink
    - 2 - Poison lasts 20% longer and deals more damage
    - 4 - Poison lasts 40% longer and deals more damage
- Blue
    - 2 - 5% chance to crit (deal 3x damage)
    - 4 - 10% chance to crit
    - 6 - 20% chance to crit
