This game is so adorable, and really captures the esthetic of tamagotchi 8 bit games that i didn't know i missed. The gameplay was simple, and clear- the mechanics were evident from playing with no need for a tutorial. Adorable pixel art and sound effects. Thanks for the nostalgia! Lovely submission
A nice, simple game. I found that the strategy is to allow the ghosts to take your heart since you can eliminate them with a meow if they are carrying it. This kind of disincentivize “protecting” your heart, which I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing, but I had fun nonetheless.
Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful game !
I like the overall aesthetic a lot and its a nice cute game. Making the ghost go away seems a little random and sometimes they will leave almost immediately and other times they will hang around and try to steal the heart for well over a minute so I'm not sure if I'm missing something there. In any case it's a solid little game and well done!
The look is very cute and cohesive. Even the title logo is well done. Appreciate the strict adherence to get the GameBoy aesthetic. The way the title screen transitions is a nice touch. Unfortunately on my machine it took so long to load after the title. Here are the cats! The character designs are great. Nice big sprites and the fun heart icons too. Gameplay with the mouse works well and the litter scoop gravestone is amazing.
Very fun and cute game! The music was awesome and the meowing sound was adorable. Very nice work!
I had fun playing this one. Good art, good music, and solid game mechanics. The team that put this one together is to be congratulated for a really good game.
Loved the art, I ran into something at the final level where the last ghost was not coming to the heart no matter what I tried. Eventually I walked to the corner it was stuck in and it finally moved little by little towards a heart. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not as all the other ghosts did not function that way. Beside that it was a great game! Loved the idea of it, reminded me a bit of an Undertale fight. Very charming great with nice puns!
Really enjoyed playing this. Felt super polished across the board.
Especially love the sprite work both in game and in cutscenes.
Adorable game.
Nice work! I really like the premise and the title of this game. Expert pun. Your pixel art skills are also top-notch. I love the animation. The game itself sure is hard though. No way I'm sacrificing all 9 lives with my skills
This was awesome! Very nice pixel art, the music was enjoyable and I liked the concept of using your 9 lives. Great work!
Thanks for playing! Great music from HighPhiSoundDesign and amazing pixel art from cecilia.
Fun concept and full of charm, the ghost section is a bit hard to understand but its good
Thanks for trying it out!
I really love your game! The cat looks pretty good. I love you animation as well :D
Thanks for playing! Shoutout to cecilia for the amazing art and animations :)
This game has loads of charm! Well done everyone!
I especially like the sound effects and art. It really captures the handheld feel.
One note: review the instructions on the game page. I didn't instantly grasp my goal during the ghost section, but reading the manual didn't help either. The second paragraph is a run-on sentence and has some confusing wording. Maybe include some screenshots that demonstrate.
You guys rule, I hope you come together to make another game.
