Episode description
The West Wing is famous for its long "walk and talk" sections, which involve long tracking shots of the characters talking and interacting with each other. This is my attempt to recreate the experience of being a camera operator on the show.

Cool game. First place in Innovation and Interpretation are definitely well-deserved.
Though voice acting is definitely needed - it's totally impossible to read text during play as all focus is on not bumping into things.
Really liked this game! It was really different, fun, and balanced. The different characters that you need to record coming and going, as well as the ones you can't record, and being able to bump into people added different challenges and kept it interesting.
One of the most original concepts in this jam so far! Loved the idea, and loved how it translated through game mechanics. Very simple but very effective. An absolute feat for a one man team! Would have loved some voice acting to be able to follow the dialogue though, as I was more focused on not running into walls!
Thanks for the feedback and the kind words! I'd love to get some voice acting in there.
What an incredible concept! Really fun, and with actually a lot of potential. It might need a bit of voice acting. But for a jam entry, this is really great!
Thanks! It would be great to get some voice acting in the game. I'm glad you enjoyed the concept.
Very innovative and unique idea! very challenging though especially that halloween special.
Thanks! The halloween level's pretty challenging. I think I stopped noticing the difficulty of the other levels because of how much I ended up playing them.
My friend and I tried it out and LOVED it! We're both big West Wing fans, and the meta approach to gameplay you took was awesome! Would love to see a more fleshed out version.
Thanks! It was really fun watching you two play the demo. I'm glad you liked it, and that you understood why I was apologizing to Joshua Molina. Getting some background effects or music was something I wanted to do, but I couldn't find time for it during the game jam.
This is a great interpretation of the jam theme, I just love it! It's so simple, yet so satisfying! Really great job! I only wish there was some voice acting (I obviously understand why there isn't for a jam) as I want to enjoy what they are saying at the same time as keeping the actors on screen and that can be difficult. But I suppose that's also part of the challenge :)
Great job! Really unique take!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I would have loved to get some voice actors to play the roles but, as you said, there wasn't much time with the game jam. And it definitely would have detracted from the game if it was just me providing my limited vocal talents to the game.
Very innovative and clever premise! Who knew being a camera person during the walk and talk can be so challenging and fun! Well done :)
Thanks for the kind words!
really cool idea - congratulation
Thanks!
This is a genius idea! I love everything about the idea behind it, and it's something not many would think of but very integral to the episode. I had a lot of fun playing this and with a little more polish beyond the game jam period would definitely be a major hit!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
If this is not innovative interpretation, I don't know what is
Thank you!
This game is amazing, I love the mechanics in place. I would love to see an optimization and maybe a make-over. But I appreciate how easy it is to tell what is what. I do have a few issues though, the collision is very inconsistent. Sometimes I can walk through walls and sometimes I can't. That being said it doesn't effect the gameplay too much. I was unable to complete the amazing Halloween level, but I would blame that on my poor rig. I think that the first level and the halloween level are the greatest, they have moments where you aren't told what to do and improvising the right option is so satisfying. Amazing work
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. The collision issues are probably in part due to the physics implementation in Phaser (the engine I'm using) not doing too well in low FPS scenarios, and also in part due to . I've been trying to improve the performance, but alternate approaches I've explored have resulted in roughly similar FPS. Still, at least I'm learning some details about browser graphics performance in the process.
