playtest mode is the “full” game in its current state. you fight one boss battle more than the demo (for a total of three) and you can play an endless postgame after the final boss
here's what’s new since the last version:
3 new bosses
a new infinite postgame with fights that continuously get harder until you lose
new skills and artifacts + rebalancing of nearly all artifacts and some skills + some rebalancing to the difficulty modes
Beat the game in Jack difficulty, so far, I didn't find any bugs, UI is nicely made, gameplay is fine, but to be honest I not sure if I can give good feedback and the reason it's because this is not really my type of game, only memory of me playing solitaire was many years ago on Windows XP. That said, I would like to point that the game have a very relaxing music, very relaxing... personally I would like something more dynamic, like something you would hear in a old rpg game from the snes era, but again, those are just my personal preferences. Overall, good game.
i appreciate the feedback regardless, thanks for playing! i agree that the music needs to be more engaging, it's currently just royalty free music that i plan to replace in the future. i will probably replace it with something similar to what you described
Haven't played balatro but I think this has been my favorite demo so far. Very polished across the board, the sound effects/music/animations/UI is very clean and satisfying. Some of the effects I wasn't clear on at first but playing it out after a few rounds makes it make sense. Very easy to pick up and makes you want to keep playing one more round. Hope there's a steam release in the future.
thanks for playing, i'm glad you think so! especially since i still have some sfx/music/animation work to do. the game in its current state is still somewhat overbearing to learn at first, but hopefully i'll fix that in the future. i was actually thinking of releasing it on itch.io exclusively as a $2.99 game, i wonder if that's a strange decision...?
mainly because i don't intend to do the necessary wishlist gathering and community building to guarantee 10 early positive reviews for a successful release on Steam, i suppose
Nice game! I admit that I don't really like these types of card games but somehow I ended up playing the demo until the end. The whole sequence of cards as you add up to your hand feels very satisfying. Good job!

Why don't you try putting the demo out on steam as well?
