This is amazing. The main game mechanic, the narration, the feel of the game is strong. I think it would be stronger if there were more objects (it would help with finding the right picture potions, too), but I'm guessing time constraints got in the way. It was very hard to find some photo positions, so I used the walkthrough a few times. I could see this mechanic turned into a bigger, 2-4 hour version.

This game was incredible. I wouldn’t finish it without the walkthrough.

Spoilers

I got stuck right at the beginning, then I didn’t switch lights on, then it was really hard to find forest and then I didn’t realize I should jump to shed.

I think making the terrain or interior more distinctive would solve a lot of problems.

But besides all of that, the game is so clever, the puzzles are eye opening, story really good and the whole mechanic is so unique.

I think that this is my favorite game from this game jam (I’ve played so far).

Good job.

Edit:

Also good voice acting.

The atmosphere is well-crafted. The game is  Very beautiful. Thanks for a great experience.

Loved the concept but I definitely needed the walkthrough. The issue at the moment is that without the visual cues of a finished level, I have absolutely no idea how to line up the pictures. However, I can definitely see the potential here so keep going!

Yea the plan was to have much clearer visual clues through the set decoration, but we unfortunately ran out of time because the game was a bit too ambitious for us for this time frame :/

This game has a lot of potential! The concept is intriguing, and the atmosphere is well-crafted. I did get stuck at one point trying to figure out where to go next, but with some polish and clearer guidance, it could be a really enjoyable experience. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves!

Thank you for trying out our game! We are hoping to update the game in the near future, especially add the visual cues we were planning for the pictures so that it is actually possible to figure out where they belong, and add all the missing decorations to the now pretty barren scenes :)

I feel like I downloaded some old version of the game. I don't know how to add a picture here, but I had a weird image at the bottom of the screen the all the time.

I also unfortunately couldn't get into the house no matter how hard I tried. The doors wouldn't open, I couldn't jump through the windows, and I couldn't find any gaps in the walls either.

Developer

thank you for trying our game!  the game version is all good. you can find the controls on the game page— press "F" to raise or lower the photo, and "E" to cycle through your pictures. once it’s in the right spot, just left-click to enter the memory. enjoy! :)

I see, ok, I'll try once again later. Thank you

I tried to play  again. I managed to do it this time. But now I couldn't get out of the room where the box with the memories was. I interacted with it, turned on the lights, got a picture. And then I couldn't leave the room.  And I couldn't look at the pictures again.

But still I liked the game, it's very atmospheric! And the idea of interacting with the photos is awesome too!

I also got softlocked in the game, sadly enough, because I would have loved to see where the story went. The abstract interpretation of the theme is great, and the French voice lines were a nice touch.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for trying out our game! You were most likely not soft locked, its just quite hard to figure out in the current state :D Check the game page walkthrough if you want to try again!

Got softlocked when entering the house and picking up the page on the "table". Or I was too dumb to get where I had to change places.Good game idea for a story game. With some nice assets the game could be an enjoyable story experience :)

Thank you for testing out our game! We are aware it is not that easy to follow at all times in the current state so we put a walkthrough in the game page description if you get stuck!
