How does your game fit the theme?
You have to use your time before the storm--the calm phase--to fend off a storm (assault) featuring various storm-themed enemies.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I drew all the art from scratch.
Code was mostly done by me except for KidsCanCode's multitarget camera.
SFX was pulled from freesound.org or generated on sfxr.me. (No AI; just random sound sliders). Music was mostly done by me expect for the main menu music, which was done by ACL_Engineering.
Fonts were from public domain bundles.
Full credits can be found in the game description.

Cool graphical style. I love the custom splash screen!
Nice little game, well done!
Really a nice take on the theme. I didnt think i would have this much fun on a tetris like game. Just a suggestion make it is so that tetris block intersect with each other.
The art style is pretty unique! Good job!
I enjoyed your non-trash game! Interesting to see that we weren’t the only ones to use a tetris-like theme (though you did it much better lol)
Short simple sweet. my strategy is to just make the side walls a bunch of junk and keep the vertical lines as close as possible to the center as a buffer.
Cool game! This is a really unique and fun interpretation of the theme. I enjoyed having to figure out the best spots for the blocks so that they wouldn't crush the guy but would also protect him from the enemies. Good job! :D
This game is great 10/10! The conceot was realy fun. I managed to get to wave 14. Well done!
i really liked the concept and game play is really fun! only feedback i can give is the object spawning point always restart at the center i found that a bit weird but other than that it is a great game!
Very creative and fun game, fits the theme well!
The artstyle is certainly unique, but it all fits decently well together.
I would have liked a bit more depth to the mechanics, right now the strat just seems to be to bild wide and make walls, the cloud enemies made it a bit more interesting but did not really change the strategy. Some attacks from the top or some way to promote building solidly would have been great.
Lack of ceiling enemies was a common critique; if I make a postjam version, more ceiling enemies will be added.
Thanks for playing!
wow, your game is so creative! At first I thought it was normal Tetris, but it was even more fun than I thought. Not only the gameplay is very novel, the music and graphics are also very interesting, I like it!:)
Wow I enjoyed this game very much!
Amazing game! I was surprised by the upgrade system which gave even more fun! I did find you can just place blocks on the sides and ignore the roof (unless I didn't get far enough?). Seeing different enemy types was refreshing too!
Yeah the lack of ceiling enemies was a common critique and would definitely be addressed if I made a postjam version. The first (and only) ceiling enemy shows up in Wave 15 btw.
Thanks for playing!
I really enjoyed playing this! The music is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day haha. I thought the idea of having to build a shelter but being constrained to building it via Tetris like mechanics was very clever.
Also the "notice of termination" was hilarious lol Loved it.
One thing I think that could be improved is having a requirement that the house have a "roof" in that it fully encapsulates the player. I was able to make it quite far by stacking lots of items on either side of my guy, but having that roof requirement would definitely add to the difficulty in that the structure would have to be stable.
Great work!! :D
That was good fun! Good work!
Here is my game: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2967087
Very awesome game !
Great idea! I had stopped at wave 30, and I felt I could have gone forever. I wish there was more strategy to it, in the first wave I built a solid rectangle around the dude and all the other levels I could just spam the blocks randomly as fast as possible, which was very effective.
WAVE 30??? You're probably the person who made it the farthest in Storm Shelter (I only made it to Wave 24).
Good job and thanks for playing!
Wow, I didn’t expect this premise to be so much fun! I really enjoyed it. This is one of the best entries I’ve played—great job!
Very Cool!
ok gonna be real honest, I came in and saw “tetris but with physics and can’t rotate” and I just thought aw snap here we go again, thinking I wouldn’t get it.
First run I kind of made a mess and then rip. Second run though… made it to wave 5. Huh. It was like 4D Tetris, where you need to think ahead of time where the blocks fall to make a solid wall.
ooooooooooh…
I then started building little castles and shapes that if hit this way like the enemies do, they’re gonna fall like this. And then you add another enemy. Had to re-engineer on the spot.
Apart from the audio jumpscaring me (which, tbh, I think every Godot 4.x had this audio level issue; my game did too, to a dangerous degree; and many others that I play did); and some art decisions (like the game over screen) that I didn’t really vibe with…
Solid gameplay. Good idea!
Yeah I probably should've picked a less bright pink for the game over screen. Or was it the font that didn't fit with the rest of the game?
Also, would you mind describing the audio level issue? I haven't noticed anything out-of-the-ordinary with audio on both my game and other Godot games.
Thanks for playing!
Half the colour, half the text. Maybe it was the contrast, but nothing waaaaaay too complicated.
The audio is something that I’ve found in almost every Godot 4.x game, where it’s waaaaaaaay too loud on export. You cannot hear it on the editor, or even in your own machine. It manifests when someone else plays.
And I took a look at the Godot code and to be honest, it seems like it overrides the volume you set on your game or in your machine. Don’t know how else to explain it.
