Seriously great resource management game! I was immediately hooked and spent awhile figuring out the optimal strategy, something that very few games here have required. My only note would be to make the eclipse last a fixed duration, either having all the clouds fly over at once or faster when there are more - it gets a bit tedious to wait for 20+ clouds to fly over one by one. Regardless, this is a fantastic game and you should be proud!
Thanks! Glad you liked it! Yeah the game is not really well suited for the end game. If we continue the game the eclipse phase would have some interaction and not just watch what happens. Maybe also a different kind of enemy that could eat more leaves would help reduce the number of monsters that spawn.
Great feedback thanks a lot for the kind comment!
fun game, but only the early days are hard to survive, after around 5 days its easy to spam villagers and trees.
Please try out my game too and leave a honest rating, thank you.
Thanks a lot for playing! Yeah the end game is pretty easy. That's something we may improve if we continue.
I will try your game when I can but I have a mac I need to find a windows but will give it a try!
Nice game! The art has its own fresh style that I like, maybe it lacks a bit of cohesion, but still an interesting artistic choice. Gameplay was simple and quite fun while fitting the theme. Overall very well done!
Thanks a lot for the kind comment! Do you have suggestion on how we could make it more coherent? I am curious, this art style is a big experiment and would love to see if there are things we could improve. Glad you liked it!
Really cool unique art! I also found the game play really engaging for an idle simulation style game. The difficultly really pushed you to refine your strategy to survive. Great Work!
Heyyoo thanks a lot for playing and for the kind comments!
Nice job! I didn't know what to expect, but it was fun :D and I really like the visuals.
Heyyoo thanks for giving it a try and for the kind comment!
Cool game I really liked it! A way to remove trees would be nice, but seems like a pretty good balance and challenging. Nice work!
Thanks a lot for playing. Yeah would have been a nice feature to be able to remove trees. Will think about it after the jam. Thanks for the kind comments.
Really enjoyed the art and the overall vibe! The gameplay is pretty fun and got me hooked for a while. I did get a bit stuck when I placed a tree in the wrong spot, so maybe an option to undo that would help. But yeah, great game!
Thanks a lot for the feedback! Yeah I would have loved to add a way to destroy ungrown trees at no cost and maybe a destroy for grown one but without refund. An undo would be a great option to. Will see if that's something we could improve after the jam.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like the art style and the music. The gameplay is also very good you can really get into it and create your own strategy. It had me really hooked. The only issue I had was that after I selected a tree and didn't want to place it anymore I wasn't sure how to unselect it. Then I accidently placed it on the far left because of this my village was spending most of the day just going from one plant to the other. Would be nice if there was a option to remove a plant for situations like this. But overall it is a really fun game!
Thanks a lot for playing and all the feedback! That's noted for the bug. Will try to fix it. I think it doubles the click events if the window is unfocussed. Will need a fix once the jam is over.
If I had to do a complete game of this I would add the ability to destroy ungrown trees and get back the resources and just destroy grown tree.
Glad you like it!
This was sooo cool! The art style is unique and beautiful, the music is fitting well and the overall gameplay is flawless. Very addictive and I want more upgrades, more enemies, I want more! :D
Thanks so much. We wanted more too :D ! One thing we considered was events like lightning, droughts... Also on the storm phase I would love to have something more intractable like a way to take down clouds. On the upgrades side we thought of adding a pond of water that could increase productivity and cancel drought effect. Well to many ideas XD but I am really considering making some updates after the jam.
Glad you liked it!
Love this game! Sims are so fun to me so I really enjoyed the progression and the villagers harvesting on their own. Really good "God" game
Thanks a lot playing and the kind comments! Glad you liked it!
Nice! I think to improve it maybe the existing plants could be able to be removed or upgraded to put better ones.
I really liked the unique visual style and the audio sounds awesome, a unique atmosphere that really works well!
Thanks a lot for the feed back and yes I agree the game lake depth in the gameplay. Glad you like it!
The game loop is really good here - I really liked the audio too, particularly the storm parts. However, I think I got to an end game where the game kind of played itself, but the sweet spot of just surviving the early game was the best part imo. This game is great and I'd love to see it expanded.
Thanks a lot for playing! Yeah someone suggested to do an exponential difficulty instead which would be a direction I would take if we continue it! Great feedback and glad you liked the rest :)
Nice art, unique art style and relaxing vibes, great job
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it!
Hee-ho. Interesting idea and art. Nice game. Meditation
Heyyooo! Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed the meditation :)
Really cool idea! Fun and addictive game! Love the art, the music. The only one issue was that it didn't get pregressively more difficult when you built up.. But I loved it anyway!
Thanks a lot for playing!
I played this game way too long. Does this game have some end state, or do you play forever? I got to the point of having 300 leaves and strom only required 19. If the game doesn't have an end maybe scale difficulty exponentially or at least quadratically.
But just how long I've played it shows how good the main loop is. It's risk and revard system that scales well. Risky behaviour leeds to exponentially more revards.
Also love the art style. It's so unique and colorful.
Great game overall.
Thanks a lot for playing the game and glad you liked it!
No there is no end and damn thanks a lot for going up to 19 :D. The difficulty was originally meant to be has you described harder and harder but it was making the early game too hard or too easy. So we scarified end game to make sure everyone could do a couple of rounds with some challenges an end would have been a good way around. But yeah scaling difficulty would be the first thing to improve in the future.
Yeah, early levels were nice ballanced. I would keep them how they are right now, but only scale the difficulty past some round
Really fun game, I love the concept though there's still a lot of work to be done.
Thanks a lot for playing!
Hi, great job! I think the concept is great but definitely needs some expanding. It may have been a skill issue, but I couldn't get thru the first night.
Heyyoo thanks a lot for playing and the kind feedback! The first night you can get through with 1 or 2 plants. More than that and you won't have enough to survive. It's kind of a bad tutorial design issue. Will do better next time :D .
Not a lot to do but it's still fun regardless. Excellent work on the music. The only change I would suggest is making the game world a bit bigger and putting the temple in the middle. Then you could plant more and have more villagers without cluttering the screen.
Thanks. @chatnone have an awesome friend who has really good skills in music. We had some ideas of events as well but never had time to do it. Thanks a lot for playing :)
I love the unique graphics. I can't seem to survive the first eclipse though. How many leaves do I need? I've tried it with 3 (2 for the villager and 1 for the monster) but it still fails (even though the trees still remain to grow more leaves.
you need at least one leaf standing on the temple to be able to stay in the game. if all three are gone, you'll lose :) thanks for playing!
