How does your game fit the theme?
The game starts off relaxed doing some low stakes platforming where your goal is to gather food. However, with each piece of food you collect the storm grows, leading to an escape sequence where your life is on the line.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All code is from scratch. A rain shader from a website was used as a base and edited by us to fit the game a bit better.
Audio assets are under creative commons use but were edited creatively to fit the visuals of the game.
Art assets were all used under creative commons, with a few edits made by us to fit what we needed.

Pretty cool, and fun plot twist at the end

Submitted

I appreciate the twist after obtaining the last collectible. The background track and sfx add to the atmosphere and tension. The physics could be improved to prevent walking off platforms for a moment after walking up an incline (it makes sense for a Sonic game, but not for a game where physics are simpler). Great game overall, short and to-the-point but fun and charming.

Cute game! Mine is similar to this one, a platformer with 2 phases, being the storm the second part. I think it would be a good idea to make a checkpoint on the second level

Nice platformer, looks absolutely adorable !!

A nice and straightforward game, with a nice visual style and fitting the theme perfectly!

Super cute! I loved the artwork. The water rising part was a nice change up. Great job!

Great idea with the second stage where water rises! That was unexpected (i thought it's game over, haha), but welcomed! Would appreciate you rating my game too :)

nice game and was pretty simple, the visuals were pretty nice wished there were a bit more to the game but a really solid game overall, great job :)

Game fits the theme nicely.  It was really surprising and fun when the ground fell and I had to work my way back up.  Sound design was nice too

Nice and simple. Fits the theme well, and it has pretty good platforming

Developer

Thank you for playing! :) This was the first 2D platforming game we made, definitely learned on what we could improve on next time

It is alright. The game is a bit too simple for my liking, but you were able to finish it on time. Congratulations.

I played the web version, and from visual clues alone I couldn't tell that I was supposed to head home after the flood.

Developer

Thank you for playing, and  thanks for the feedback! There's definitely some features and level design that we wanted to tweak, but weren't able to do it before the deadline (seems to be how game jams usually go, eh? :)  ).

We'll keep developing and updating the game after the voting timeline ends. Thanks again!

Nice game but character is too slow, tiles don't look consistent with character design, maybe have too much resolution, level design don't provide any info about how to win level

and btw game crashes after two jumps on desktop, so i played on web

Developer

Thanks for playing! As a team of two people whose specialties are programming and audio, art was definitely a challenge :)

As for the game crash, we tested across multiple devices with the desktop application and didn't encounter any bugs...we'll continue to test. Thanks for reporting.
