How does your game fit the theme?
The game takes place in a small town the day before a storm destroys it, thus it is literally and figuratively set "before a storm" (ie. the calm before the storm)

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No, I used RPG Maker which comes with premade assets, and due to the nature of RPG Maker, no coding was necessary on my part.

Really enjoyed this. The game was very calming yet bittersweet. Love the dialogue choices you made here and the hints were pretty well set up

Looking forward to your next game!

Developer

Thanks, I was wondering if people would find the hints, and the dialogue was a lot of fun to write.

Oh and in case you need to know, the Mac version did't run. I had to play it in the browser.

What a lovely sweet game! I enjoyed playing so much and finishing it. I'm so glad I got to give everyone in the village what they needed on their final day :)  And it's a very interesting twist on the theme. Well Done!

And I'm so happy to play a game by a fellow user of RPG Maker in this jam! Especially one who uses it in a creative way and not only to make a JRPG! Please check out my game if you'd like to see how I used this engine (I love it so much <3)

Developer

Thanks. I usually don't use RPG Maker but I wanted to focus on a narrative project and still have good graphics and assets, and RPG Maker felt like the best choice for it. Also thanks for letting me know about the Mac build, I'll remove it.

I really enjoyed the concept and how the story unfolds. The multiple endings add a great layer of depth to the gameplay, making each decision feel impactful. The puzzles felt rewarding and made me think about the best ways to help the characters. Well done!

Developer

Thanks, multiple endings just feel like a must for me with games.

Really cool idea and story! Very thoughtful and I can see it going a long way with more development. :D

Thanks for checking it out. I don't plan to continue development but I might reuse the concept someday as it was a lot of fun to build a game around.

Lovely game. Felt a personal connection to the characters and was happy when they where happy. Would love to see this concept expanded upon, but I also feel like it was the right amount of gametime, it didn't overstay it's welcome so to speak.

Developer(+1)

Thanks. I tried to make the character's stories as diverse as possible so people would be able to connect to at least one of them. I don't plan to update this project but might reuse the concept for a bigger project someday. I'm glad you liked the game!

Well, that was depressing.

Developer

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy yourself, but thanks for taking the time to play!

No, I did enjoy it. It's the story that was depressing. But that's not really a bad thing.

This game is truly impressive, especially considering the short time frame of the jam! The branching dialogue is really well done, adding so much depth to the story. I love how simple yet meaningful the concept is—it hits the perfect balance. You’ve really made great use of the theme, and the heartfelt execution makes the whole experience unforgettable. Fantastic job!

Developer

Thanks, I wanted to use this project as a chance to practice narrative design, I'm reasonably happy with how it turned out given the timeframe.
