Very Cool!

Adorable! Nice story and art. I liked the little puzzles. The boss fight was fun, but too long.

Amazing game! Well done! Love the puzzles, really clever.

I loved this one! The little construction dogs were so cute! And the item-bouncing mechanic became very fluid and fast once I got used to it. Made for some very fun, interesting, and rewarding puzzles. Would love to see this expanded to something longer so I can keep bouncing around and seeing more cute dogs >:)

Also was that Money, Money, Money by ABBA as the boss fight music?? Very excellent

Charming little puzzle platformer, complete and well polished!
My only advice would be to zoom in a little bit more, some of the objects to pick up were quite tiny :)

Developer (1 edit)

Ty & glad you enjoyed! :D

I'm thinking of adding dynamic zoom where when you come near certain things (e.g. NPCs, items), the camera will smoothly zoom in a little

Loved this one! played till the end - dogmanity is safe. Fits the them well.

Feels pretty complete, the only thing that took me a second to understand is that dogo can't climb ladders while carrying.  (and the audio thing I mentioned in discord)

Also, never thought I'd be fighting giant robot while listening to swedish pop!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! :D
I'll work on the game a tiny bit more after the jam and a dialogue "I can't climb with my hands full" is on the list!

Haha I was not expecting that boss fight at the end! I absolutely love the art and animations in this game, was a joy to play!!! Well done!

Developer(+1)

Ty! Glad you enjoyed :D

This is great. Everything worked perfectly and I had no difficulty completing the levels. The puzzles were excellent not too hard to be frustrating not too easy to be boring.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed!

I sit here rn with my gf besides me looking mad because 2 minutes ago she was going down to catbot dramatically lmao

Cannot believe how complete this game feels knowing it was made in a week. Amazing puzzle game! The art is super cute. Had a ton of trouble with Robocat the first time but was able to get it the second time around.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! :D

We were gona do 5 levels but traded some length for polish in the end, deffinitely a few things I want to fix after the jam though.

This is a great puzzle game. The design has a great blend between feeling open-ended while still having a structured solution, the pixel art looks great, and the music choices suit the game beautifully. Levels 1 and 2 are essentially perfect.

When it comes to level 3, in theory I love the concept of a cozy puzzle game which suddenly becomes a high intensity boss fight. However, I think the gameplay is too much of a shift from levels 1 and 2, mostly because it's now completely random. I think something like Captain Toad's boss fights would have suited this game better, where it's still a structured puzzle, you can just die now.

Overall excellent game, and I'd definitely play any future iterations you make. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed and thank you for the feedback! :D

I've never played Captian Toad but looking at some clips, that seems to indeed be a great way to implement bossfights into a game like this! The main reason the bossfight is what it is, is because I didn't have time to design another level, but depending on how motivated I feel to expand the game, I might pick you up on the suggestion!

For one week this game is super well put together! The art is amazing and the artist should be proud they got so much made in a week. And The puzzles are nice, and the fact that there are multiple levels  and even a boss level are very impressive to me. Great work guys!

Glad you enjoyed and ty for the kind words! :D

It took me i while to even see the nails in the first level and understand how to interact with them. Also being able to press down to pass to the lower plataform could help the feel - or change the sprite, that visual screams the kind of plataform that you can drop. Also the text area is way too big.

That being said, is very polished and its amazing that you managed to fit an boss fight there. Very fun game. I loved it!

Developer(+1)

Ty for the feedback and glad you enjoyed! :D

I might add some more stuff to the game after the Jam, including more instructional dialogue, we also ended up having to rush the background a little bit because everything we tried made it hard to see everything very clearly. I completely agree on the dialogue btw, but at the time I decided against wasting more time fixing it, and if I had to fix it in the end I wouldn't have time to edit all the text inside of them :P

I saw a lot of your updates on the discord server, and I gotta say I absolutely love your art style! The construction levels would have me feel connected with the gameplay and the characters, and the boss being a cat was also a great design choice. Its difficulty was just enough for it to feel like a boss fight, but not feel like it's too hard/out of place with the other 2 calm levels. Besides that, you added great quality of life features like skipping cutscenes (I died once on the boss, and it was really nice not having to do the walk again). Just an amazing game overall!

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed, and ty for not overlooking the little things! :D

All the art decisions were made by PaleGhosts, I didn't request  the bot to be a cat but she made a great call indeed!

Incredible game, the pixel art is beautiful. The puzzle phase is very intuitive and satisfying. Maybe for the boss, the bomb explodes too early, or the boss should reposition earlier (by the way, the timer for the bomb is a very good idea). Very good game, well done!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! :D

I was kinda running out of time for Catbot's AI, I ended up simply coding that he would only move to a randomly chosen place if there are no bombs there (or pick another one), and that only worked between 5 and 7 bomb ticks remaining, as that's when he had both time to move and all bombs would already be placed, so unfortunately I couldn't make his moving timed much better.

This game was clearly designed with a lot of thought and care - I love how the game subtly teaches you its mechanics like items being lifted higher by trampolines than you are, and how it comes together in the end - I really enjoyed that fight. I will say that I was extremely unlucky on my first try; I died in a single explosion, since I didn't know the counter was on the top of the screen, and I was in the radius of 3 bombs at once D:

That aside, I love your game, great job!

Developer

Ty for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed! :D

> Also lol that's really unlucky, the chance that there are even 3 bombs together isn't that big

Impressive art style, also like the gameplay so much. Now it's ur turn to try & vote us. Thank u

Be better.

Thank you for the criticism, I've given you a good rate, if you doubt my comments just based on the time span, I think it's a misunderstanding, because I've tried many games, it's just that I don't give comments right away. But no problem, if you feel that it is the right thing, then you don't need to try our game. Thank you ^_^

P.S: I did comment only on the part that I highlighted, because of my limited English.
