Very cool game. It took me a few runs before I was able to score high enough to purchase anything but I liked the mechanics a lot! I'm a big fan of this genre so you get bonus points from me hah

The gameplay is fun! I wasn't expecting the geometric style from the cover picture, but I do like the colors. Nice work!!

This is fun and you achieve a lot of good gameplay from these simple shapes and mechanics. I wasn't very good at attacking, I think it was due to not having a firm grasp of how long I needed to wait to attack again. And those red guys are killer! Throwing some basic art in, even if stylized, will help for engaging players. Nice work!

Loved the music, gameplay is good too, I just stank at it.

Thanks a lot for covering my game. It's the first time I've actually seen someone play a game that I made, so it's very exciting for me. Cheers!

I was a bit put off by not having to use the mouse to attack at the start, but having diagonal arrow attacks made it actually control nicely. Nice minimal art style and the gameplay was very good well done.

A nice roguelike, though the pacing of the game feels a little slow, increasing the difficulty and providing access to the upgrades quicker may help keep things a bit more engaging. Nice job!

Really liked the combat system. Keep up the good work ;)

real original mechanics and the game curve was just right.

The choice of assets for player and enemies didn't match the music, the sound effects, the animations, or the mechanics and kept pulling me out of the game play, and felt bad. I could not make it far without disconnecting from the game play

This was great! good soundtrack, I like that it got more intense as you played. Good solid mechanics, would love to see it fleshed out with art assets. I'd reccommend adding a tiny bit of pitch randomization to the main slash noise for variety... also maybe make the cooldown on the attack slower? Really fun though

It was quite challenging but fun.
I was able to buy all the upgrades at least once but they quickly become very expensive.
I like the challenge but in my opinion, it would feel better if the upgrades were stronger, especially at a game jam.

This game is fun and has a lot of potential. Il like the minimal aesthetics but I think that the UI deserves more work. I don't know the health of my character (the rectangle could act as a gauge for example). Also I didn't know what is my money that I could spent in the shop. I had to restart the game a lot to be able to buy a single upgrade, maybe the first upgrade price is too high to enter in the grind loop (As a player I need a little more time to get good). Also I have the impression to be dead as soon as I get caught by an enemy. Have I a single life maybe ? If not, a bit of invincibility frame would be great. Nice work I'd love to see more about that game :)

Yeah... things are a bit confusing at times because of the prototyping assets and lack of animations. Your guess was right though. The hero only has 1 HP. What's adding to the confusion, I think, is that blue mobs don't kill, they only stun you for a second. Other people also mentioned the shop is a tad too expensive. There is a lot of room for improvement, and I want to continue working on the project after the jam. Thanks for stopping by and for sharing your feedback!

Surprisingly fun. Would recommend not making things that kill you green though.

Developer

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the game. Yeah... the green stuff was supposed to be a pool of acid, ha ha. I'll continue working on the art after the jam.

Nice work! Just shows how you can make a fun game without bug budget graphics!

Really great addition to a classic feel with the upgrades!

I liked  how nostalgic this game is! And loved the upgrades as well XD

Submitted(+1)

I enjoyed it, fun arcade action. Reminded me a bit of agar.io due to all being simple shapes.

Developer

Ahh, the nostalgia... Now that you mention it, the large blue mob's mechanics really are similar.

Nice, I like the idea. Only thing is I think it might be better if after you died, it just kept the score. Since one would have to survive a really long time and play really well just to get even the cheapest upgrade. When it doesn't keep the score like it does now, it has a feeling of just starting everything over. It seems to conflict a little bit with the replayability idea of the upgrades. If the score was just kept between runs, maybe it would be a little better.

Other than that I thought the mechanics and the way the enemies worked, and the different things that happened when you plaid were really good!

Developer

Hmm... that never even crossed my mind. But I think you might be right! Since people don't spend that much time on a single game in a jam, this mechanic might have been more encouraging.

I thought this game was cool, I like how the enemies had different behavior. The music was so epic lol

I thought it was a cool little game :)

ALready tried this one before the end of the jam. Enjoyable but still challenging for me! Nice one.

Oh I miss so much some nice graphics in there, but I know you hadn't enough time to deal with both graphics AND features! Nice one.

PS: I really HATE the red enemies >:(

Developer(+1)

Thanks again for the suggestion the other day and for stopping by to play the game again. I was actually going to make 2 red mobs merge into 1 mega red enemy when they collide, but I didn't have enough time to finish the AI. Maybe it's for the best, ha ha.
