Darn game wouldn't load for me in the web browser but your art work looks great!

i like the pixel art! its not very detailed but theres still clear distinction of the foreground and background

Developer

Thanks! I tried to keep it close to a 4-color pallete for each tile to make it less distracting.

Pretty nice and cute little game!

Thanks! I'm thinking of making a post-jam update with more levels, an easy mode, etc.

The idea is super nice, now peach would go towards bowser immediately XD

As a small piece of feedback I would say gravity was a bit weird, and that I hope you get the WebGL working, I know it can be a hassle, but overall well done!

If you can find the time, would you please check out our game as well?!

Our twist of the theme is that a critic tries to play your unfinished game, and you fight from inside the computer to make him like it.

Overall a good job on the theme execution, I only wished the web version was working :)

Great take on the theme. I did find movement a bit awkward though, maybe if the default falling motion was a bit faster?

It's a shame the web version doesn't work but its good you had a downloadable version. Others have already mentioned the compression format, but you can also try going to "Build Settings" > "Player settings" > "Other Settings" and turn off "Strip Engine Code", set "Managed Stripping Level" to low, set "Vertex Compression" to None, and turn off "Optimize Mesh Data".

ik, just can't untill after jam

Developer

and I based the level design around the base falling speed

That's a great implementation of the theme! Good job!

I like the story behind your implementation of the theme, there are so many games where you try to save a princess, but you're playing a princess that tries to run away from the hero.

I like the falling mechanic you added, since it adds a unique feature to a very basic platforming game.

Thanks! It was inspired by how Princess Peach works in Super Mario Bros 2 but more

I ran into the same issue as you for my WebGL game at first. What solved it was going to "PlayerSettings" => "Publishing Settings" and setting the "Compression Format" to "Disabled". Good luck and happy jamming!

Developer

I'll keep that in mind!
