I really like this idea and it was pretty fun to play. One problem I had was that it's a little annoying when a note appears below the bottom middle area if you're standing there or passing through there, because it's impossible to see coming and hitting it might hurt you. I think if either notes couldn't appear there, or if you could see a bit below the play area there so that you could see notes before they hit you there it would be better. Part of me also feels like it might be good if you could see which color was going to come next, but I'm not sure. On one hand having only the current color visible makes you have to react every time you collect a note. But on the other hand sometimes there are multiple notes in your trajectory toward getting a note, and it'd be nice to be able to plan around this a little more. You could jump and get the next 2 notes right next to each other with good timing and positioning, or you could see that one of them isn't the color you will want so you decide not to take that jump, etc. Finally, even though there is an explanation of scoring on the game page, I didn't see any indication of my score in game. It'd be nice to have a score display during gameplay. Anyway this was fun to play and it's cool that you got 5 different songs in within the jam.

Thank you! I agree with your feedback, I hadn’t thought about the next colour indicator but it’s a good idea. Score UI is definitely something that needs adding, and notes from below does need to be worked on. Originally there was some space below the disc, but that got lost in full screen mode somehow, and I don’t think it was enough anyway. Thanks again, glad you enjoyed the game!

I love it! The controls felt a little floaty but the idea of platforming inside a spinning barrel of an arena feel amazing. Made me want to make a game where that would be a feature too! Thanks for a lovely game!

Love this take on a sort of bullet hell. It's pretty fun. Although there are some things that are annoying like when notes come from below it's hard to react to it and just gets you instantly a wrong note. Also the tutorial would be nice to have something less frustrating to scroll through when trying to figure out the controls, because it kept going when I didn't finish to read it, but I believe that this is because of the lack of time and why you added a back button. On the other hand, love the music and the art, it's quite impressive making that kind of stuff in 48 hours. Amazing Job overall !

Developer

Thank you! Notes from below is something we need to work on. The tutorial wasn’t timed though, it waited for you to click “Next” before moving on. Maybe there was a bug where hitting space would activate the button in a UI keybind not sure.

I really enjoyed this! As others have said, I didn't love how the character controlled but the ideas behind it was great (as was the music).

Developer

Thank you! Movement is a common theme so I’ve been prototyping a new control system for next year, which is already much better than the one used this year. While making it I found out why this one wasn’t great: I’d scaled the forces by delta time, but I didn’t realise Unity does that behind the scenes already, so it was happening twice! The result being that the game has been balanced for 144FPS and runs weirdly on 60. Honestly pretty funny mistake xd!

The gameplay of this was super satisfying! I only wish the controls were a little more refined to have more control over the player, but I had fun regardless. Great work! :)

Developer

Thanks for the comment, a lot of people are saying the controls are a bit dodgy but we will try to improve it soon

Good game

I like the idea and the take on the theme. I enjoyed playing it. The presentation though, sorry but the UI hurts my eyes xD

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The lights are very glary, inspired by games like Beatsaber, perhaps a lower contrast mode would help.

This game is a bit like dodgeball, but with music notes! You have to catch the correct color notes while avoiding the incorrect ones. It's a bit challenging. It might be even better if the music and the notes were more integrated!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I agree, some sort of note-music sync would be great.

Love the game! One of the most creative takes on the theme. The controls were a bit floaty, but I got the hang of it. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! Controls seems a common area for improvement in the game, I’m going to experiment with some different control methods (physics wise) ready for next year, hopefully I can get something more intuitive running! I already have a few ideas lol.

Great concept, the game is fun but what ruined it for me were the controls, I didn't feel like I had control over the player all the time. The music sounds great though!

Developer(+1)

Its nice to see everyone liked the music.

Developer(+1)

Hi, so glad that you liked the music. You can listen to it here ->

The controls were a bit wonky for me, but the music rules!

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback, all our music was 'handmade' and it is great to see appreciation of this given how much work went into it.

Developer (1 edit)

All of course credited to ErasableSky who is making a youtube video on the jam music.

Developer

Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed the music!

Notes coming from below are very hard to prepare for sometimes. It's hard but really fun. As another suggestion, for the levels can it be clearer how long until we win? The scratches as platforms create an interesting dilemma.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback! I agree adding some sort of timer would improve the game. Good point about the notes from below, adding some sort of arrows to indicate where off-screen notes are coming from might help.

This is a really novel idea - wish the game had more ratings, it was one of the more unique ones!

Developer

Thank you! Fingers crossed, there’s still plenty of time left on ratings.

I found it a bit difficult to move around on the disc. But the concept is very creative

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! The movement can take some getting used to, perhaps a part in the tutorial about sliding would improve it.
