I found this game very funny, makes me feel the same kind of experience as games like Papers Please, but here you do your best to... not be patched x)

Love the style! Though the text might be a bit too hard to read, but I'm still able to figure most out. Enjoyed it throughly.

One of my favorites so far! such a fun and relaxing experience

Developer

That means a lot, thank you!

Nice game, but font on card is too small and overall amount of information required to play is too much to dive in easily :(

Submitted

Graphics on the cards are really good. I found it kind of difficult to tell what earned you gold and what didn't... it took a while but I think it's a pretty fun game, nice job :)

Developer

It's a horrendously designed algorithm that takes into account player level, boss and location difficulty, and strengths and weaknesses. That sort of design has never been my strong suit but I always manage to force myself to use one lmao. Thank you for playing though :)

I really like the idea of the game! How you now become the NPC giving side quests to "players". The gameplay felt a lot like papers please and I honestly like that type of game. The artstyle is cute, the music is nice, and the sound effects sufficed. One minor issue tho is the card texts are kinda hard to read... But other than that, great game! More variety and content, and this game could be put out to full release! Great Job!

Developer

Thanks :) I tried changing the text right before submission, but somehow broke everything so had to revert. I did eventually update it now the jam's finished, but thank you for the nice comments!

This is the kinda jam game that you hope to see again eventually, polished and complete, on Steam or something a month or so after the jam is over.

Awesome concept, and I love the writing. Good stuff! :)

Developer

That's awesome, thank you so much :)

Neat game! Wish more monsters had strengths and weaknesses from the beginning so the gameplay feels a bit more involved. The patch notes and overall theme of the game is really cool. Well done!

Great game! Love the presentation and the jokes in the patch notes - so many ring so true. The game's pace picks up a lot after players get patched to be impatient, and that's a lot of fun!

Developer

Thank you :)

Really fun idea! Text is kinda hard to read tho.

wonderfull game. So creative and addicting. I had to force myself to quit. It would be fun to see how the characters react on the mission instead of only slightly suggesting by the health bar.

Wonderful game in every aspect! The idea of presenting it as a game in development is brilliant. My only (small) complaint is that the card area gets quite crowded, and cards spawning on top of each other can be a bit awkward.

I completely agree! The game is super fun and really well done. However when the round starts having a bunch of cards stacked when required to do it in a certain time limit makes it a bit tough.

Developer

Thank you! I had a design meltdown with the card area to be honest, trying to mix clarity whilst also trying to add a layer of difficulty via resource management was more difficult than I imagined. I'll probably do a design pass now the jam has finished :)
