How does your game fit the theme?
My game is a variation of 2048 using rock-paper-scissors kind of relation. As you progress through the game, it is scaling in 3 dimensions - board size, amount of elements in the game, and difficulty (amount of tiles being spawned each turn)

Really solid entry! Got to 868 points before dying. I really enjoyed the way complexity naturally escalated over time and I thought the main mechanic was really intuitive

Great game! It reminded me of the 1024 game. I also like that you added roadblocks to increase the difficulty even more. Im definitely going to play this more after the game jam

Very interesting take on the theme! I liked how much it expanded upon a typical rock-paper-scissors game. I did at times move spaces at random and progressed the game with no issue, so having more anchor-types of tiles (maybe ones with good/bad effects) would be interesting to see. Overall though, this was a lot of fun!

Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed :)

Interesting take (which I agree with) regarding the anchors, seems like the opinions are quite mixed. Thank for the input!

Interesting take on the theme and on a well known game mechanic!

I actually tried just spamming all the arrow keys without thinking and ended up winning xD

Developer

Thank you! Yes, this method can get you far. I thought it would be nice to let most of the people end the game without much effort, but only the ones who will put thought into their moves to achieve some high-score :)

Really like the mix of 2048 and RPS mechanics. Lots of scaling mechanics but most of them flawed – once the table goes beyond 4x4 it’s really hard to keep track of anything on the board, I just kept pressing arrow keys until I could not anymore, and additional elements over the original three did not make much sense. But overall good idea and realization.

Thank you for your input!

Yeah great game this, immediately knew what was going on, great use of the theme and loved the new additions to the rock, paper, scissors rule-set!

Developer

Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed :)

Damn, great game, nothing else to say. It’s just long enough. I’m sad the anchor blocked an entire corner of my grid at the end D=

Developer

Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed :)

Indeed anchors can be quite tricky to play around, and sometimes you're forced to give up some of your grid!

I like the simple concept, I will say it's a little easy to get stuck right now, but overall I really enjoyed it

Developer

Thank you! I do agree RNG plays a role here, for good or for worse. Glad you enjoyed :)

I like the concept! Nice, relaxing, and intuitive. I think the mid-game is where it shines the most. 2x2 it is very easy to get bad luck on spawns and not be able to progress. By the time you get to 4x4 and 5x5, you can almost randomly press directions and still make progress fairly easily. 3x3 was the sweet spot for me.

Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! I agree with you regarding the sweet spot. The adjustments to the endgame is a try to balance things out in the late game. Glad you enjoyed :)

I really liked it! It's clever and very easy to pick up, which I appreciate. I also liked all the new types of tiles you added, including the anchors, but at one point some tiles that couldn't combine got boxed in by anchors which felt kind of unfair. That's a small gripe though, overall it was very fun and I just barely squeaked out a win. Nice work on a great entry to the jam!

Developer

Thank you very much!

I do agree that some RNG can ruin a run, that can be potentially avoided in advance with some decent coding. Glad you enjoyed :)

Very relaxing game.  Getting the fun of 2048 but definetly less stresful! Also nice visuals: every move gives a nice feedback

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :)

Really nice game, surprised I haven't seen something like this before. The new items made it interesting, though I feel like the anchor was a bit rng and didn't need to exist.

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :)

The thought behind the anchors was the following: I felt like the game was fairly easy without it, especially in the larger boards - it was almost "unloseable". The amount/placement of the anchors can be adjusted for an easier experience, maybe that can help out. Thanks for the input!

Cool game, it was fun to play, I liked all the different tiles you had. Chill relaxing music and nice art, good job on your entry and good luck

Pretty nice take on 2048. The clean vector-y style is also pretty nice. It is very RNG-dependent, though, especially early on when you have very few tiles - I had two runs stop short of 10 points because four of the same tile spawned.

Other than that, it's just a solid jam entry. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :)

Indeed the early 10 moves are more RNG dependent - the idea behind was to force the player to be strategic about their moves, and the fact that if they lose there's a quick restart option and you don't feel that you lost much progress since it's very early into the game. Although I agree it can be adjusted to be less RNG dependent. Thanks for the input!

I'm using a Mac so I can't try out your game, but if you ever build to WebGL let me know!

Okay this one might actually be one of the top games for me in this jam :) I really loved the spin on the classic RPS, especially how if felt like I was playing 2048 as well. Congratulations!

Developer

Thank you very much for your kind words! Glad you enjoyed :)
