Love the visuals for this one, It looks so pretty!
The only thing I would have preferred is if the area was a little smaller, it felt vast and it was easy to get turned around. I wonder if adding a sprint could help too, it would allow you to travel faster but would raise your temperature and make you thirstier more quickly.
It would be cool to see some desert animals added too, to draw your eyes to their movement as you explore.
Overall it was fun with a great "mystery" feeling . Great work!
Thank you for the kind words :) And yes, I totally made the map larger than it needed to be. I will most likely be creating a new one or reworking this one if I continue to develop this.
Nice game! I really like the visuals and the atmosphere
This game looks beautiful. The character is well animated and the atmosphere and ambient music are very nice. For next time I would highly recommend to make the game easier/shorter. I couldn't find anything except water and food. I eventually found the canteen just before I wanted to give up.
Nice survival.

Hope it helps
Thanks for playing and I'm happy to see there were several aspects you liked! And you're completely right, I made the map too large and empty for a game jam. I initially intended for it to be smaller but kind of got carried away. Indicators near food/water sources were planned but just didn't make it in due to time. And I think I need to spend more time with cinemachine (this was my first time using it) as I did use the cinemachine collision script but probably need to fine-tune the settings. Thank you for the feedback though!
Nice atmosphere. I feel like there's an entire story behind this that hasn't been told yet. My biggest issue was the camera. Felt like the Y axis is inverted from what I'm used to so I kept staring at the ground. Saw you plan to update this post jam. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this project!
The game looks great. controls and camera could have used some more work. many objects were missing colliders that also was a bit confusing.
Thanks! And yeah, I didn't notice that until too late. Just ran out of time for playtesting :(
Wow it looks great! felt it was a bit slow paced though. Good Job
Thank you for the kind words :) And yes, I made the map too large and the pacing suffered from it. I hope you were able to discover the contraption machine though!
Looks very nice and I like the music but I felt lost the whole time.
Thanks for the compliment on the music! I didn't have much time to spend on it so I was mostly just hoping it wasn't distracting or too repetitive. And I feel your pain about getting lost haha! I got lost myself several times while making the map. There were plans to implement a compass and directional system but I just ran out of time. Thanks for the feedback though!
I felt like I was fighting the camera the whole time since it was constantly zooming in and out. Aesthetic is nice, but kind of takes too long with nothing happening.
I understand, the camera is definitely not up to snuff. It was my first time working with the new built-in cinemachine camera system in unity though so it's a learning curve for sure! As a survival game it is meant to be slower paced, but I completely agree that it takes too long. I initially intended for it to be able to be completed in around 10 minutes, but ended up making the map far too large for what made it into the submitted build.
The idea of a fast-paced survival game for a jam does get the brain gears turning. I guess you always have to consider whether you’re making a game to do well in a jam, versus learning/exploring concepts.
The game looks really good and works well with a controller. I wished I could sprint because I felt lost in the big map through most of my play through.
Happy to hear you had a good experience with the controller as that was one of the core focal points for development! And I agree, with a map this large a sprinting/stamina system would be a great addition! Unfortunately I made the map much larger than I originally intended and didn't have time to go back and recreate a smaller one. I actually wasted several hours trying to scale it down but it ended up being more trouble than it was worth. I'm planning on continuing development on this though, so I'll probably make a new map entirely and may very well add a sprinting mechanic too! Thanks for the feedback :)
Wish you the best of luck!
