Did you work in a team?
just me!
loved it!
Was the resolution a challenge?
biggest challenge was displaying text... would have liked to get a little more on the screen, but in the end I made do with what I had available.
What did you learn?
First big project i've ever done with Godot. I love it!

This game gets top marks from me. I love everything about it. The only thing I would wish for is a map (à la Metroid) and, maybe, a description of the controls and the story/goal in the game page. You made a great game, solo! Impressive.
Really nice metroidvania game! That boss is insane jajaja
this felt super nice to play and it was soooo cute! Well done! <3
Extremely fun, so many visual and audio effects, gameplay and progression was very smooth, really well done !
Wow, great execution. Not sure what the threat was or if it meant all enemies were the threat and you just had to kill them all, but nevertheless, very fun to play. Worth expanding further.
YOU were the threat lol.
Really nice work - loved this! Really nice atmosphere. Minimal but everything really readable. Good level design. My only complaint would be the keyboard and mouse controls, but that's a personal preference thing (I don't think mouse and keyboard...). It seemed to glitch a little when switching screens or respawning - not sure if that was intentional but I really liked it and added to the atmosphere!
Thank you! Glad you had fun. I’m considering how the game would change if i did a more traditional input system…. it would be fun to play with a controller but that wouldn’t really work with the current system.
I loved it, Good level design, excellent controls and aestethics, also GREAT ending! Congrats.
Haha thanks! I’m proud of my silly little ending…. glad you enjoyed it
That was very well made. I like how the instructions are given in-game through the first level of play. That was a pretty polished pile of pixels you put together there!
Very very fun. Sounds and effects were thicc and crunchy, controls were tight.
this was so fun!!! really well polished
Great game... love the metroid style! Highest marks from me!
An amazing metroidvania with tight controls! I love how you delineated different areas with different color tiles, this really helps me stay oriented and keep track of where I've been/where to go!
Really cool game. Wasn't expecting the mouse aim, but I liked it. Cute character, clean level design. Props for Godot :D!
I loved it! Couldn't finish yet as I was unable to find bombs. Nevertheless, I will give it another go. It really brings me to "environmental station alpha" The sounds were awesome and created just the right mood. The only point that I have regarding the gameplay were the controls... The jump was way too fast and I found it hard to control the fall... Maybe easing up a bit on the gravity and lowering the jump speed. Other than that, outstanding work.
haha fair criticism… i like things fast and snappy, but it is pretty hard to control as is. I’ll keep it in mind for future games.
Thanks for playing!
Making a metroidvania for a game jam (or in general) is a little crazy, and yet you pulled it off! The difficulty feels just right. I never got bored, wandering around looking for that thing I'd missed. The little effects everywhere are beautiful, the enemies are well animated and read well. The boss feels like a great conclusion (great music btw).
Well done!
Controls were tight, and damage effects punchy. Really fun! (And welcome to Godot!)
Unexpectedly good, easy to control, I love metroidvania and here you have managed to condense the essence of one into a great little game, I also liked the sound effects. and the filter when you get hurt. but above all the gameplay!
Loved this! Played it all the way through, I was definietly not ready for that boss haha. It felt very satisfying and fun and the game looked good, 5 stars all around haha. Glad you love Godot, it's my engine of choice!
That was an enjoyable metroidvania with a satisfying progression. I appreciated how you managed to make the enemies look completely distinct with such a limited number of pixels. The little caterpillar-ish creature ended up looking pretty cute.
Hello! I played your game on stream! If you want to see your game played with live feedback, you can find the VOD and watch from this sheet: http://bit.ly/bean-stream
Yoooo thanks for playing!
The 1-hit death you were experiencing was indeeeed a bug! Since you didn’t step on the save-station at the beginning your health wasn’t getting regenerated when you restarted at the beginning… so even tho the UI was updating to full-health you were still technically sitting at

HP lol. Thanks for sniffing that one out for me 🙈
