Themes
I implemented the "Unconventional Weapon" theme. It helped me come out with an idea which was both really simple to develop and worked well for a fun game loop.
Tools
Godot as the engine, since it's what I've been using for quite a while. I used aseprite for all of the sprites, and a mix of Jummb.us and Audacity for the music and SFX
Lessons
This was my first time ever making assets for a game (in fact, it's the first time I've ever made a game entirely on my own). Before this, I had only ever made art for a couple of personal experiments and nothing else. This jam also forced me to learn music composition on the fly, which was a very fun, stressful and rewarding experience :)

When it works, is quite fun!
Very fun! I loved the variety in planets and enemies. I wish I could at least bop enemies back with the bat, because I had a bad habit of getting stuck in a corner having missed with the ball and not being able to extricate myself without taking a couple points of damage.
Very fun idea and very satisfying execution of your core mechanic. Especially when it came to sound.
Fun idea, and nice snappy execution. The whole package, concept and delivery, is really coherent. Great job on the music!
Something about the animation and the sweet sound effect when smacking that ball kept me retrying again and again! Loved all the sprites, SFX, and music for each stage too. It took me a while to get a handle on how to aim the swing just right but when it clicked it felt extremely satisfying.
The title screen was perfection as well!
Great game with interesting mechanics. I enjoy it. U did great!
Very fun game! I found myself wishing I could parry those bullets. It would have been a cool addition.
sorry but the mouse aiming control sheme really doesnt work well with this jam as whether you're fullscreened or not if you aren't then theres a ton of space around the game window where clicking while trying to frantically aim and swing will unfocus and minimize the window or if you are fullscreened then its really hard an inconsistent to aim upwards accurately if you're near the top of the room or downwards if you're near the bottom. good game idea just not for 64x64 context
