Nice game! I included it in my LowRezJam compilation, if you’d like to take a look :)

Developer(+1)

Glad to see my game featured on your channel! If you liked it you should check the intro and outro as well :-)
Let me know if you include it in any other of your videos!

PS

Loved the style of your channel and your voice! Keep up  the good work. God knows indie game dev scene needs more people like you.

Thank you so much! That means a lot. <3

Really funny concept; I love all of the thought that you put into the entire game. I enjoyed the puzzles and you made great use of the screen space!

Developer

Thank you :-)

THE NEXT LEVEL

Overall really fun game! The player death noise might be a little long but otherwise this game has a lot of quality traits. The game's overall design, humor, and challenges are very well thought out :)

Also loved the ending! That was unexpected and made me laugh out loud.

Developer

Thank you.
The death sound is so long to serve as the only punishment for dying, to prevent players from spamming death in order to solve puzzles (because of the limited level size that can be a viable tactics as there are not so many combinations)

After I posted that I saw you had mentioned that in other replies (sorry for making you copy/paste! :) ) After reading your reasoning I appreciated it a little more, but I still personally would prefer an <ACTION> to skip to the end of the audio :P

You may be right here

Cool gameplay, some levels have given me trouble !
I liked the humour in the intro & outro ^^

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I am very glad you liked the game!

This is really nicely put together!! I like that this one actually has a story, and the gameplay powers were neat! Overall nice job!

Developer

Thank you!

Silly and fun. The different skills were neat, and I liked the variety in the graphics.

It's not really a complaint, but only a couple stages were challenging! That means your hints & difficulty curve were good, but I would love to see some more complicated stages with no hints. Really good entry, either way. :)

Developer(+2)

Thank you, if there is sufficient demand I would be happy to include more levels or even make a sequel with larger levels. The difficulty curve at the moment is really all over the place and could definitely use more levels.

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, maybe a number of stage "packs" or "worlds" (maybe "floors"?) or something that each introduce a new mechanic in a tutorial level or two, then include a handful of stages that are harder and incorporate mechanics from previous floors? Just an idea. :)

Great job including opening & ending cutscenes, by the way. Those make it feel much more complete as a game, and a lot more satisfying to finish! I can tell you spent a lot of time considering the player's overall experience.

Developer(+1)

Actually the level scheme that you described is what I have (more or less), there are simply too few of levels overall. As a game jam, I wanted to keep the game short, so that more people could actually finish it (we all know that people rarely spend too much time playing each jam game).

My goal with the game length was to have enough levels to allow a player taste all abilities and mechanics, but to leave them wanting more :-)

This is one of those games you see its made with love. I also love me some good puzzle and this one uses its simplicity very well...

My criticism:
-I think you could use a bit less text screens, though most of them are funny
-I dont like to wait the dying sound to finish so I can restart the level

One of my favorite games in this jam

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much.
Speaking of a long death, it was a conscious decision: that wait is the only punishment for death, to make it at least a little meaningful. Do you think this mechanic does not work as intended?

Submitted

I understand and appreciate the 'punisment' mechanic but its a bit too long imo.

Submitted(+1)

oh and btw I have great respect for conscious decisions. Kudos for that I will try to complete the game later

Developer(+1)

The difficulty is all over the place, some levels can seem too unintuitive, let me know if you have any difficulties, I would really love to hear your opinion on the ending.

why

Submitted(+1)

Fun little puzzler! I liked how you introduced the mechanics in part: clearly a lot of thought went into the design and flow of the game, so well done! I might suggest adding some kind of indicator of how many "steps"/"time" you get in each level, as sometimes it feels a little arbitrary when you have gone over the allotted time.

Really great job :)

Developer

Thank you. That is actually a good idea, I was worried that there won't be enough space in the HUD, but in the end it seems like that would be possible

Submitted(+1)

I'll be honest, this one made me laugh. Not a bad feat, all things considered. I'll be honest and say that my main gripe is that the tutorial tips are a bit too numerous. Most of the mechanics are self explanitory, and each level is only one screen long, building on the mechanics introduced in the previous one. The only thing that really needs a heads up is the powers menu. That's what I think.

Developer

Agree, but I would rather have a bit too many explanations for people who don't get it, then have too few. Finding the balance is the tricky part! Thanks for the feedback.

I like the intro and the tutorial hints during play. Atmosphere is great.  Well done!

Developer

Thank you :-)
