Nice work!  Doing anything procedural can be super ambitious in a jam but it looks like it's working really well.

The waves turned into a bit of a chore pretty quickly but it's tough to tune since it all ties together.

Sunglasses on the protagonist is always a win.

Well done, for your first jam entry that's some top notch stuff, way better then my first entry that's for sure! I like the way you have combined resource gathering with a swarm mechanic, the UI & animations were good and the art theme consistent. Allowing the player to choose map size and seed was a great touch, and I loved the entry into the game although on replaying it, some people will probably want to be able to skip/speed that up. I wasn't really sure what to do with the green blocks, gold was obvious as it counted up. It made sense to me that the enemies damaged me outside the mech, didn't quite make sense that they did lots of damage when I was in it too, having them jump up onto the mech or some story that explains how they are able to damage the mech would have made it make more sense for me. Fun and inventive entry, excellent work to you and your team!

Thanks for playing and giving further ideas!

Had a lot of fun trying out the different map sizes and upgrade paths you could take.

Some of the upgrades felt like they didn't have much impact (like turn speed), so I would use the gold to buy hp-regen to effectively re-roll the shop until I found bullet damage, fire rate, drill efficiency, drill speed.

The start of rounds felt very slow, mainly because of the rocks and waves taking so long to clear.
With some luck, I got some exposed minerals helped jump start some runs.

Record: 21:59 (on the largest map)

Pretty fun mining / shooting game.

I like the isometric style camera angle, and its quite impressive that you made a procedurally generated map complete with size choice and seed number :o

The movement shooting and mining felt fine, i just got a bit confused by 2 aspects :

1 : I thought i either had to upgrade to get guns or find another mech made for combat in the map to kill the enemies untill i realized it was way simpler, you shoot when outside of the mech and you mine when inside

2 : the resources indiation cost for the upgrades feel a bit confusing, i feel it could be clearer with maybe colored squares that correspond to the resource to be able to know at a quick glance how much of which is needed to purchase the upgrade.

Other than these 2 i didn’t have any other particular issue. The game was fun and i dig the mech’s look of being a cube rocking some shades B)

Good job ^^

I had a lot of fun with this one! having the upgrades randomized like that is a great idea, I kept wanting to keep going to see what new upgrades were available. Really clever to split up the game into mining and fighting, and trying to get good paths. The UI was a big standout to me, the remote connection CRT theme and health bars are just great. Really cool entry!

Cool concept. I like how you play as the head. Played on stream, here is the VOD: https://youtu.be/wlr1r0gS4Uk?t=3171

Huge thanks for playing it on your stream!

Fun concept, I'm not sure how far I got in the upgrades but I think it would be cool if the mech eventually could attack or maybe offered more than just the ability to mine, since I felt like I got interrupted from mining a little too frequently. Had fun playing it!

Developer

Thanks for review! I had plans to add more functionality to the mecha but ran out of time.

I'd like to see this in a full game with the proper polish! The monitor visual gives that fallout vibe, even more if the assets were a bit rusty.

The waves come so fast and so frequently it's most of the time shooting and very little mining. Just a balancing issue though.

Very well done!

Beautiful Little Game, would love to see more Polish.

The Main Menu is annoying with that writing and you are not able to skip it. Takes to much Time and is not fun.

The Gameplay itself could be a little more faster and an Animation when you are digging those Rocks. The Upgrade System was kinda unclear what exact resources you need to gather. Some Icons for that would be better instead of a Character.

A good Job with more potential, keep it up

Developer

Thanks for constructive criticism! Will try to fix those issues in further updates.

Nice idea! But animated menu is so annoying when you just want to play again. And it's sometimes not obvious is a robo-bug on top of the wall or not

Developer

Thanks for review! Ah, forgot to mention, pressing Esc key in menu makes the animation skip/become faster. Enemies weren't completely polished as I started a bit late, will keep that in mind for next update.

I really like the visuals, it's very well made! I will definitely play more of this.
