Aesthetics and sound work are amazing😻

Amazing job! Love your sprites and background! Has the quintessential and some QOL! It's amazing how much you got done by yourself!

I was surprised I could t-spin in this game too! Pretty cool and chill game, and there was something pretty interesting in having a narrow grid. Good job! Love the visuals and music.

Super simple and solid! Really calming and nailed it with the SFX/Music. UI is greatly appreciated too!

Highest I was able to get was 2700. I'm really bad at tetris lol
None the less, the audio is cute Af and the game is still fun, bugs and all kek. Great job on this

Submitted(+2)

Really nice game, it’d be awesome if there was a hold mechanic

Its cat tetris alright. How come the board is narrower? Check out my live review at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

If only I was good at tetris.. The game vibe is very nice and relaxing. One thing though, I'd place 2 separate volume silders for sound effects and BGM as well since I'd usually have them at different volume, but overall the game feels good and plays nicely (from my noob tetris experience).

Developer

Thank you for you feedback.
Yeah, there should be 2 separate sliders for sound and bgm but i was out of time x) I'm sorry.
And you don't need to be good at tetris to play CATRIS ;P

Doing video first impressions!

Super pleasant take on tetris!

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for the feedback video! And you're really good at Tetris btw.
First of all, i'm dumb because i forgot to set the music in loop.
Consider that I decided to do Tetris because I wanted some easy game to practice using Unity Tilemap...
NOTHING MORE WRONG. It was pretty hard to get all working in a decent way, like, the rotate mechanic was a pain to do.
I'm not a good tetris player, so there are rules I didn't know before today, like the random bag pieces. Right now, as you could see, the pieces are totally random :')
It's an easy fix by the way, so I'll fix it surely as fast as I can.
About the game field, yes, i think the Tetris standard field is 10x20 ? or something around that, instead I went for the half of the size because I wanted 1) less grid to work with - and 2) short play because of the game jam, there are many game to play and vote so i want to keep it short.
The "hold piece" mechanic where you can save a specific piece for later seems really cool, I'll consider it.
Thank you about all the feedback, seeing someone play your game and enjoy it was really special to me. Thank you so much.

Nice one! At first I wanted to make a Tetris game too but then I hit a wall, coding a Tetris game is surprisingly hard! The art looks good and t-spins kinda work most of the time, that's satisfying, kudos

I couldn't get more than 2600 points though, I don't know how you spawn your blocks but it seems kinda random, and sometimes there's just nothing good that shows up. Tetris games usually fix this by the random bag method: all the pieces are put in a bag and then shuffled, then we start emptying the bag. Once it's empty we put back the pieces and start over again. I don't know how you made your spawning system but it could be an easy fix

Developer

Didn't know about that random bag method! The pieces are picked totally random, so yeah it's all about luck.
In fact, i've never played Tetris in a deep way to know all these stuff and I apologize to all the Tetris fan around :')

It should be an easy fix, and I'll fix it as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your feedback

Fun Catris game! Highest score was 500. Great audio, and visuals, very cute and clean! Wish there was an ability to "Hold" the blocks until another turn.

As a huge Tetris fan, this was fun! In the Tetris community people often practice with non-standard well sizes to practice their 4w and other sorts of techniques. Good stuff!

Submitted(+1)

After multiple attempts, my highest score was 200 lmao. Cool game! :D

A pretty well executed tetris game! The audio and visual style worked well together, and you cant go wrong with tetris gameplay - nice job :)

Developer

Thanks for your feedback. I know, I could have added something to differentiate the game from the classic tetris, but for me it's an achievement just to have made this clone.
Glad you liked the visuals, I'm not an artist so i tried my best ahah :3

I was slightly annoyed because the WASD keys would move the cat blocks a lot, but then tried the arrow keys and it was much better so that is pretty good :), The game looks great and the music does fit it pretty nicely.  :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feeback. The A&D keys seems ok to me, I don't know what could be the problem. At least the arrows key were fine, so it's a good end anyway. Glad you appreciate it :)

Submitted(+1)

From my experience, I can move the blocks more precisely with the arrows because if I hold them pressed they don't continue moving. Preferences. :)

My entire childhood, but with cats

Amazing game man, Tetris always rocks!
